Apparently it's perfectly acceptable for some random toon to send you an abbusive tell out of the blue accusing you of stealing their idea for something in a house and claiming it is your own even though:

A) you have no idea who they are
B) you have never seen their house because quite frankly they are a nobody
C) whenever you see something you would like to use in someone elses house you always have the common courtessy to ask that person if they would mind and always invite them round for a look when you have completed the work.
D) you have never claimed that the idea was your own or even original

So, even though you may have spent ages building up a great reputation for being open, honest and fair apparently some freak with an attitude thinks it's perfectly fine to give you grief just because you happened to do something similar to something that they have done not because you saw their home but because you may have seen the idea somewhere like this or Norrathian Homeshow.

In order to avoid such accusations it may be wise to keep a note (in triplicate) of exactly where each and every spark of inspiration comes from in case some noob decides to question your integrity... lol

The purpose to those threads *is* to share ideas, bounce things off others that enjoy decorating as well, etc. If they don't want others borrowing their ideas, then they need to not post screenies and lock their house to not accept visitors --- if they don't do that, they lose the right to bitch.

I found it really hillarious, I've never even heard of this person, let alone visited her house, she's a complete nobody on our server so why would I.

In addition I found out this morning that Mheryl did the same thing in her house quite some time ago, does that mean that Mheryl stole her idea even before she'd had it ;) lol, no it means that people find similar solutions to the same requirements. either all by themselves or by seeing pics on the net so to anyone like this who wants to give me verbal I have one thing to say.....

Heh, that one deserves the logs posted, IMO.

I've seen "my" ideas pop up elsewhere. I think it's cool! Someone liked it enough to use it.

If I see something particularly cool and borrow the idea (such as the waterfall in the pics I posted), I'll mention I saw it elsewhere - is anything more than that really necessary? It's nice to give credit & give the other person a pat on the back, but getting angry that someone used your idea is a bit much.

Norrath is too young a world to have intellectual property laws. They're still in the "gimme back my magic beans or I'll stick an axe in your head" phase.

lol, unfortunately I was in raid at the time so didn't really have the presence of mind or the time to take a screenie of the conversation, shame because if I had it would have made a sweet Rate-A-Retard thread.

I honestly think that this person must have a really small IQ and a really big ego to automatically assume that it had to be her idea I copied, which it was not and tbh having now seen her home it's not the kind of thing I would want to copy anyway. A friend of mine on our server who also decorates houses went along there to have a look at her house to see what all the fuss was about and she descibed it as "Lame" and "poorly executed", I'm not that nice, I described it as a "Shit Hole"

Oh, and although I will not be so cruel as to post any pics of this other persons attempt at a mezzanine floor (especially not without her permission) I am more than happy to post the pics of mine. Please feel free to "borrow" anything you want from this, as I said it's not an original idea in any way, just my interpretation of an old favourite.
