lol ya i know what you mean:

takes a long ass time to get a decent amount of feyiron even going in cod repeatedly for only ore nodes. almost out of t4 though which is good.

and it looks like t5 is going to be just as fun =(

I'm curious if this stuff is actually selling well at those prices. I know when I see them that expensive and I need mats to grind levels, I'll just go and harvest.

and tier 4 ore seems kinda slow to come by.

FeyIron is a killer, and I'm leveling 7 crafters. I really would like to see a harvestable exchange NPC, where raws could be turned in 3:1 for any other raw of the same tier. Hand in 600 Severed, get 200 FeyIron (or whatever).

I will not pay that much for raws. I would rather harvest the materials myself for a couple of reasons. First, I will need to get my harvesting skill up anyway to be able to do the quest to get the large harvestables bag from Shin at lvl 50. Second, the rares are nice for crafting on whichever toon (I have 5 now) or to outfit the little toons.

I never harvest just a single node (such as ore) and it drives my crazy when people do that! Say that there are 6 of each node type in an area (an even distribution of the 6 harvestable nodes: ore, rock, root, bush, lumber, den). Then you harvest just the 6 ore nodes. When those nodes repop, they have an equal chance to pop as any of the 6 types of nodes, or 1/6th chance. So, the result is that you end up with fewer and fewer ore nodes and more and more of what you don't "need". Clear everything. Sell, give away, pass on to an alt, or destroy what you don't need at the moment. You will also end up with more rares to use, trade, or sell even though they were not what you were specifically looking for when you went out to harvest.

I, similarly, try to harvest everything. Then, every once in a while, when my guild bank gets filled, I give away some of the common harvests that I don't need.

I bet an economics major would love studying this game. Because of less population in the lower tiers, there's no supply. Then, couple that with human greed and we have !OUTRAGEOUS PRICES!

Seriously, these sellers must have incredible patience. Who actually pays that much for a raw material?

I'd love to know where you go to harvest that nets you 1k feyiron clusters in only 2 hours.

When I was playing on test more regularly, the qa at the time was testing something harvestwise on the dock of enchanted lands, he spawned an ore node, and when we came back a bit later after harvesting it, it was a wood node.

I asked him about this and he said that one node makes another type in some sort of sequence, I don't know what that sequence is, but either way-if it's an equal chance to spawn any other, or if it goes in order, the poster above is right. In the old world, where nodes are equally spread over the zones, you have to keep harvesting ALL nodes to get plenty of the ones you want. (This doesn't include fish, they made fish their own node long long ago cuz no one would fish and all the nodes would end up being fish nodes til someone came along and cleaned them up)

So my harvest game plan is to stake out an area (for instance, in Thundering Steppes I'd harvest from around Thundermist down the river bed to the first bridge and run back and start over), stay in that area, and keep clearing everything. I have to harvest one day a week in almost every tier cuz I craft on 7 tsers and do orders from every tier, this is the quickest and most painless way I've found to do the old world harvesting.

Prices on najena arent that bad for sure. Sucks that they are so sky hi man. On another note, I saw a botter had listed a whole bunch of stuff as well. Had well over 1500+ of the normal harvests and like 20-30 of the rares. That did piss me off.

Ah, I hadn't considered what it was like on PvE servers. Bots find it more difficult to harvest in many zones due to the PvP, so they don't bother with some places. Hitting these zones/areas during off hours can net you an amazing number of mining nodes up. This would not be the case on PvE now that I think about it.
