Re: Tradeskill Epics
I loved the way the tradeskill epic made crafters work together. On Kithicor we had what can only be described as a raid set up for a good 5 hours or more in one tradeskill instance where different tradeskills were banding together to help people get their updates for Proof of the Pudding even though most of us had already completed our epics.
This was by no means an isolated incident and I'm sure the same thing has been happening on most if not all other servers. This has been happening since the first players were on that part of the quest line and I have no doubt that it will continue for at least the next few days thus proving that tradeskillers are indeed some of the nicest, most helpful and co-operative people you will ever find in an online world.
The other thing I found was that adventure level was not necessarily a barrier to completing this quest proved by the fact that one of the toons most active in organising our little epic tradeskill party was infact only a low 40s level Troubadorbut what she lacks in level she more than makes up for in sheer determination and enthusiasm, again a trait I now feel is displayed again and again throughout the tradeskill community.
Big congratulations to all who have already or will in the future complete this quet line

Re: Tradeskill Epics
I also had a pretty good time putzing around on my alchemist's epic. It was kinda cool to see tradeskillers helping each other out again (not that I'm pushing to go back to the old way tradeskillers depended on each other.)
The little tradeskiller raid last night on Unrest was short a sage and armorsmith, but two good souls logged over to help us out. I was also offering my services to make mirrors at fuel cost (which I do for anything else when I do custom orders.) Just wish the TG tradeskill work stations were a little bit closer together.
Now to get my little provo's cloak done, since she has her faction grinding done in Fens. Then to finish up faction grinding on my carpenter...then getting the jeweler and woodworker started on the whole thing from the first quest from Jones.
The cloaks look awesome, as does all the little "perks" that come with the whole quest series. The next time SOE does something on par with this, might I suggest crafter-specific set gear? My alchy sure could use some chemical goggles, a lab apron, and some long protective chemical-resistant gloves. Perhaps have a 3rd appearance slot for crafter-only set gear? When you click on a work station to tradeskill, your regular appearance slot look switches over to your crafting gear look.
Also, tinkerers and transmuters should have also had a chance to get something epic-quested...perhaps a 2nd questline to do if you're max at your tinkering or transmuting?

If you are grouped or in a raid, then you should not have to run around to different crafting stations. If the person you are crafting for is anywhere in the zone you can do the commission for them. The person you are doing to commission for can be at the docks, at Highton, etc. I just remained beside my crafting station, had the recipe up, and clicked on the player's name in the group or raid window. They put there components in and off I go.

Yeah, someone enlightened me to that fact the other night when I was helping a crafting raid in TG. Only problem for me, is that I'm an alchemist who can also make AP switcher mirrors, which can get to be a bit of a run going from one end of TG to the other.
