I'd like to see an adornment recycling/recovery ability for those with ally tradeskill faction, that would either be personal to the crafter, or better yet, would allow consignment.

yeah, I suppose if you have to drop like 2-3 plat each even on Tier 5ish adornments, getting them back might be nice. I suppose if they remained soulbound there wouldn't be as much opportunity for exploitation.

I mean if you could trade them after recovering them, it would be more like "renting" an adornment for 10 levels .

I miss bird baths... i dont want to spend the money for a weeks worth of leveling just to turn around and waste it. Then again... bird baths would make transmutters all but worthless. Who's going to come to me for more stuff every Tier if they can soul bind their items.

Unless i can get say - 1 of the lowest items possible, like a Frag for a treas or a powder for a fable or an infusion or blah blah blah...

That way i still need the mutter, but i'm saving on some of the costs? Am i over thinking that?

Ally tradeskill faction really easy to get since everyone does writs to level up now, should have some other cost, like so much personal status to buy or like 7P like teh gay altar recipes are for teh carpenters. Otherwise everyone and there mother would have it as soon as it hits the game.

They could have adornment reecovery be quested. Like the alchemist ability to change up lower tier dusts for higher ones.

It would be best as a muter only skill, to remove some of the pain of being a muter instead of a tinkerer on your raid main.

Maybe if you transmuted an adorned item, you could get back one mute raw from the item and, say, a powder if it had a treasured adornment, or a mana if it had a fabled.

Though getting the adornment back would be better.

I want an NPC that will trade in unwanted tradeskill mats for needed mats on a (say) 3-to-1 ratio in the same tier. ie. 99 bloodstone = 33 fulginate.

This would have a number of effects:

1) People would no longer just harvest Ore nodes in zones, making them next to impossible to find in some instances

2) I could get some value from the time i spend harvesting nodes that I dont want, just to get the nodes I do want to spawn

3) Prices on the broker for some mats may return to a reasonable price

This would be cool, but I think you'd have to restrict it some...like you could only trade soft metal/gems or ore/loam and foodstuffs/pelts for roots, but other than that I love the idea.

Although TBH I'd be happy just with the ability to trade imbue items for raws. 1 imbue item for like 5 of whatever material I want would be fair IMO.

I think there is a good reason you can't recycle adornments. It's the same reason as why you can't un-attune armor and weapons. It would simply make transmuting pretty much worthless, because everyone would just use the same item over and over instead of ever buying something...

I can see why they wouldn't want the adornments simply stripped off the item, since as Fibs said you'd just have them passed around and recycled to different characters.

What if they allowed Transmuters to do a special kind of commisioned adornment transfer? IE: You put in your current equipment with the adornment, then put in the equipment you want to transfer the adornment to. Transmuter and customer accept and the adornment is moved.

If ease of transferring is a problem, maybe tie in some kind of cost or rare into the commisioned recipe? I'm not sure what mechanics SOE would have to use to implements this, or if its even possible.

How about the transmuter being able to break down the item and recover the highest component (mana for fabled, infusion for legendary, powder for treasured)? Not sure how it could work, maybe with the commission system allowing the no trade gear to be placed in a special window, or the transmuter being able to target the gear somehow?
