Reading the thread about actually sitting on chairs or lying in bed (my favorite) makes me ask if there are any bookcases that actually hold books! I have several bookcases and they look great, but don't allow me to put any books in them

All my books are on the floor and they are a mess!! Can anyone suggest some bookcases that are usuable? I have lots of books (don't we all) and want them put away.

I don't know much about decor in EQ2... but I know for most bookcases it just seems as if you need to angle them a certain way to put them up.

The only book case that doesn't work is the briarwood one (and the ones that are quested that look like it).

The others are just a pain, most you have to duck, or scroll out and up, or sit, or do some other contortions to get books on them, but they DO physically work.

If you are not a gymnist then you will want the redwood bookcases....useable on every shelf without contortions.

it helps with some peskier bookshelves.

Compiled from my own experience and some soe forum posts about working shelving:

I had trouble in a 1 room house in longshadow the other day with the long ornate but it is supposed to be a working one, also the double cedar fancy I think its called, only the top shelf worked for me the other day.

Small Fir - all shelves work
Maple - all shelves work
ash -all shelves work
teak- all shelves work
Tall fir - all shelves work
Small Cedar - all shelves work
tall cedar - all shelves work
primitive elm- all shelves work
Alder - I'm pretty sure all shelves work, not confirmed
Ebony - there are small spaces where you can add stuff to it, the graphics though are a nearly-full case
Bone - Only top shelf works
Ornate Oak - only top shelf works
Briarwood - nothing about it works normally
Mahogany bookcases - do not hold anything
Redwood - all shelves work, best one in Zehl's opinion, so easy to use
long ornate (wall shelf)

Acrylia Bench's stacked make a very pretty metallic bookshelf, one of Zehl's favorites

Gilded Ironwood Bench would stack pretty as a shelf also

In that regard, other benches or tables can be stacked if you like them, but the others are too rustic and woody and blah for me
