It's a great bike...the only beef I have with it is the S version has lower handlebars and it can be uncomfortable on long rides. We talked about it before we bought the bike and I said "naw I can deal with it" and somewhat regretted that eventually. They do sell kits that you can get that raise/lower them on the fly, though.
My only other complaint is just my own preference - I get a bit goofy for dual sports and we have a lot of off road choices here. The SV is a confidence inspiring bike, but not so much you think "hey I'll drive down this dirt track in the middle of nowhere!"
My 6'2 brother in law sat on it and was ok with it (I think he's a 32" inseam - strange things you pickup talking to the inlaws...). I'd say just go hit the dealer and sit on one.
Or, hey, buy mine and I'll take the cash, run out and buy a used GS 650. lol That's my dream bike, I just don't want to be the one to put the first dent into it - after that first one is over with, I won't care. :D
