So, having run my Irux copy all over Norrath on test I still can't find any new red shinies, so I can only conclude that:

a) they haven't gone in on test and will just go live
b) the existing red shiney collections will give a choice of rewards instead of just the one which would be a shame for those of us who have already completed the collection
c) I'm as blind as a bat and can't see them despite wearing both the earring and my cloak just in case.

Does any one else have any further information on these supposed new red shiney collection rewards because I'm starting to question my own sanity?

There's one collection along the shore in Enchanted Lands, it results in some goblin crate pet. I haven't done it yet cuz there just haven't been enough hours in the day for the past few days.

Not sure if that's the only one added but it's the only one found so far.

lol, I found it, must have been whilst you were replying, it does give you a box, looks like the boxes that were dropping off mobs at Erol day, only this box moves, well more jiggles, but you get what I mean

Where do you acquire the components to see red shinies? This is the first I have heard about them

You need to be wearing the Earring of the Solstice, one of the items you get for completing the Tradeskill Epic Quest line. Red shinies are visible only to Master Crafters when wearing the earring.

The items are lore but tradeable though, so if you are not a crafter you can buy them or get a crafter friend to help you get a set.

There is also a red shiney collection in the Down Below area of Qeynos and one of the sewer levels of Freeport (not sure which one). this results in a slimy cube house pet that can be named

The gelatinous cubes quest give you a choice of reward, a clear cube, a green cube or a wooden crate cube. The last option is distinguishable from the EL crate which just really "jiggles". Any pointers to spawn points for the EL quest? I have found one on the beach to the west of the dock although EQ2Traders suggests the coast generally.

They seem to be only in the area of the beach between the dock and the wall. I found one sort of around the goblin guy that's there, but it was the first day and there were a few people there so I may have missed some spawns.

Yeah....I went back today and there seems to be a couple of spawn points around the "Profit" guy camp....another at the big rock next to the docks and about 3 points along the coast up towards the spire. Maybe try re-equipping the earring when you get inzone......maybe slightly bugged?
