Did the devs ever say why mounted heritage items don't reduce status cost?

Because IMHO they should... it only makes sense.

I hadn't really thought about it, but you are right, they should be a high priced one like 500-1000 based on tier like collection house items. Though I never think about SP because when I bought my fancy NFP mansion I quickly got all the SP stuff I could (including like 30 bearskin rugs which were the SP reducer at the time), my house has been 0 SP for years.

Maybe they didn't because when the game started those items were REALLY the top of everything and everyone who got one who was not class restricted from it used it and they never thought people would set them down in the house. Also back then nothing had big rent reduction, and most who chose not or could not use one (cept me, my trophys all went in my longshadow 1 room house to show off!) cashed in on the gold they sold for.

You could always post this in the soe items forums & see if any devs reply.

I know this is a late response but I'm pretty sure I read that you dont get status reduction for Hertiage Quest items because you earned status for the quest itself. So I guess they are saying if you wanted say 100 status reduction and the quest gave you 25,000 status, you basically got 250 days worth of status for that item paid for by finishing the quest. I know... not the best example and probably poorly worded but you get the idea.

At least that's what I recall reading on the official forums.....
