Troub vs. Dirge DPS

I am currently leveling a Troub as my new main (level 46 atm) and doing respectable dps. I plan on raiding with my troub once I hit 80 but I had some questions regarding our dps since RoK came out.

In general, do we parse similarly to equally well-equipped dirges? Does one of the bard classes have an edge over the other in the personal dps department? Any troubs able to compare parses of themselves vs dirges in their raids?

Based on my observations, a troub can and probably should outparse an equally geared dirge. This clearly depends on the types of groups your raid leader prefers to build. I am modestly geared and almost always in a group like (Wiz, Lock, Troub, Fury, Assassin, Illy) and generally will beat any of the dirges by 300-500 on an average parse in RoK.

Depending on non-retarded group setups, a troub should blow the dirge out of the water dps-wise. The dirge is likely to have a better hit % with his/her melee, but our procs and the procs from other members of a decent mage group are just awesome.

The dps boost PoTM gives you destroys the boost from CoB.

Good dirges will compete, but they just don't have the firepower to keep up with a good troub, in the usual raid setup (troub in mage group, dirge in MT/OT group).

althought those are some good points the thing you need to keep in mind is that the dirge in the off tank group is usually speced differnty than the MT dirge( almost always now with the mirror). this allows them to keep up with the torubs but they will still strugle and need a stacked group. dirges can do very well so dont underestimate them. its all about buffs, take away our our buffs and poof we suck just as bad!!

one thing i noticed while leveling up...

at lvl 46ish, your DPS is pretty insane, i could grab agro pretty easy... but then when you get to lvl 55-60, it goes down hill

Yeah, I have noticed my dps is comparable to a lot of the other straight dps classes around my level. I just figured this would change as I level up and things would scale less in my favor.

Actually there aint difference at all with MT and OT group dirge AAs. And there is really no use for mirror for dirges ;)

Seems that troubs are really doing better dps than dirges. Buuhuu
