My JC setup is very similar to this. I use 1-4 on my keyboard for 1-4 DPS priorities. I have an icon I click that is close to PoTM for myself and for the MT/Healers, I have their icons on a side bar near potions and other clickies.

So basically during the fight, I click all my spells and shit using the mouse and use the keyboard for JC'ing people.

Also, since I use every possible hotbar availible, I have 23 macros for JC displaying on my screen at all times (although some of them are for convience so I don't have to open my macro book to swap DPS priorities).

So what happens if DPS class A asks for JC and before you give it to him DPS class B asks for it also? Do you just screw DPS class A over?

Are those 7 people macro'd somewhat static? I'd need at least double the amount of macros I think. I could of course run 2 hotbars with static macros for everyone and memorize them all, but that makes the knowing of who to click when even more overwhelming. In the heat of the battle my mind just goes blank sometimes, when it comes to my JC rotation.

I think what REALLY is fucked up, is the fact that EQ2 can show you only 30 buffs which are on you. Jcap on myself is almost everytime hidden, that sucks! Why give every group thousand buffs, when only half of em are displayed? They could realy change that somehow

I only use jcap on the tank while he's pulling so I get on agro and people can see how awsome I am, then on myself for potm , then I ninja jcap who ever is closest to my cursor and they don't get a tell. They should just know when they have jcap on them, if they don't then they arn't pro. Then the last 5% I jcap the person I hate the most atm, they get a tell though so they know I hate them. I also have this weird habbit of telling people they are going to get jcap, but never cast on them. Same for potm, I just constantly spam my hkey and let them guess when it really goes off!@

On bad days I...

I agree. I track JCap on myself by looking for the status message about immunity when I try to use my JCap self macro. I wish there was an option to only display temp buffs.

When they changed the ordering of it, they did a poor job for certain things. For anything you cast on yourself they put them at the top of the list(going to be >30), but for anything somebody else casts on you, they put at the bottom of the list(going to be <30). The problem is, they should have just left all temp buffs at the bottom of the list, no matter WHO casted them. That way you can see everything just fine, but they screwed up ever so slightly. Though it would be great if the game sent more than 30 buffs and we could make our own UI to screw around with ordering.

In our raids, I JCap the MT first, then the MT group Defiler. Then I throw PoTM and immediately JCap my Wizard as he times it perfectly with his Frigid Gift ...the damage done is incredible. We all have macros for these so the healers are on the ball and our MT is awsome so the wizzy never dies (well, almost never). After that usually the Brig and then I watch to see who is the most on top of things and assist them. I only JCap myself before I throw Countersong or Bladedance (yes, bladedance is effective and useful when timed properly ....tends to keep my casters alive). Agreed that never JCap the Illusionist unless he asks for it.

Ok, was gonna start a new thread but then I found this one so i'll just necro post here... :D First of all... no I didn't just buy my character from Ebay so don't waste your time, I know how to play my class decent enough but want to get better and maximise it as much as possible.

3 first dps priority, tell that person macro
4 second dps priority, tell that person macro
5 third dps priority, tell that person macro (these 3 usually all in my group)

How do you set up the macro for targetting, casting on and tell these people. I have made about 10+ macros and tested them but it never target's the person and always casts jcap on me! >.< Up to now I have been targetting them seperatly and casting jcap directly to them... This has an impact on DPS in raids no doubt.

Also dps... dun dun dun...
Gear - EverQuest II Players

Carried out on training wall in KJ, no jcap or PotM, solo

AA - The raid troub set-up that's the norm

- I don't time my auto attack with ACT;
- All my skills are adpet III/master;
- I'm set to get my mythical this week if all goes to plan. (Been trying to get a better off hand for ages also.)
- In the screenshot I showed my bars, the top empty one is where I plan to put my Jcap macros. (This is the primary hotbar so I can just hit a # and it's done.)

Any hints, tips, macros or insights you have to share will be greatly appreciated, anything else you need to know also, just let me know.
Thanks in advance -B

Plus, you can easily edit in the tell to the person.
This is working well for me too. I use my keyboard for all abilites/spells/debuffs and have my mouse hover raid panel hitting jcap button. But how do you macro a tell to it? Didnt think that was possible.

Search for 'Jester' in _ProfitUI_QuickRaidButtons.txt ( {eq2 install path}\UI\ProfitUI\_ProfitUI_QuickRaidButtons.txt )

Change it to something like:
Code:
        <Data Name="Button1" Macro="SpellForMyLevel="Jester's Cap"
useabilityonplayer Parent.Target SpellForMyLevel
tell Parent.Target You have been JCapped." Tooltip="(65) Jester's Cap"/>
The new line is important, as is not using a leading '/'. You can throw as many things on there as you want as long as each is on a new line. So, if you wanted to coordinate in raid chat:

Code:
        <Data Name="Button1" Macro="SpellForMyLevel="Jester's Cap"
useabilityonplayer Parent.Target SpellForMyLevel
tell Parent.Target You've been capped.
raidsay Jester's Cap on Parent.Target" Tooltip="(65) Jester's Cap"/>
