Not much to time for us really. Only thing i try to think of is casting Thunderous early after an auto-attack.

If you are mashing too fast and chain clicking I have seen lag make you miss autoattack rounds entirely. The best thing to do is pay attention and make sure your weapons are going off, and don't cast bump-nightstrike right before your weapons are about to hit. Pay attention to the auto attack timing bar, don't blindly mash buttons that light up.

I actually spent a whole night on working on casting order timing the Auto-attack. And what I found out for us troubs is that timing your auto-attack means nothing, and most of the time it means losing dps. so after my initial casting order its whack-a-mole from there on out hitting fast refresh CAs as much as possible.

Oh and staying away from long casts when Auto-Attack is getting ready to go off.

Noets, Unrest

Timing auto-attack is huge for me. As it really is for every scout. Whether you use profitui auto-attack timer or another ui's timer, or even just watch your numbers above the mob's head, timing your auto-attacks results in much higher dps.

As Gulpen said, don't be dumb and cast Bump/Night Strike or Thunderous Overture half way through your timer, or you'll be delaying your auto-attack a lot. I can usually squeeze in a couple quick CAs/Spells between each auto-attack (Reverberating Shrill and Ceremonial Blade for example), or TO or Bump/NS individually between each auto-attack. Takes a bit of practice, but after a while, you really acquire a strong understanding of how to chain your arts together to maximize both auto-attack potential and recast timers.

It all has to do with lag. Like Gulpen said, you can actually lag through recovery time which means if lag is really bad, you can miss a bunch of autoattacks because of lag when they were supposed to go off during your recovery time.

If lag is non existant, then you will attack 100% during recovery time which means timing autoattacks won't really do anything.

the autoattack bar is your friend...my melee stats arent too shabby (was at 81% crit and DA with like 200 haste and 150 dps in my group today without IA), so it helps a ton to make sure you get the autoattack in. I usually get in a thunderous or bump/night strike combo or two other ca's/spells between autoattacks and that's all there is time for
