ive pretty much only use it on mobs just before i know a stun/stifle is incoming. i also use it while spamming an green debuff maestro combo, usually so i do not need to take off a more important green debuff

I've been wondering about this too. As it is, I havent even specced for it (it would only cost me one point to do so).
I just figured, if it shortens durations then it will also make DoT's tick faster? Has anyone verified that this ability does what its supposed to (shortens stuns/stifles etc), but doesnt make DoT's tick faster? Then I'd use it for sure.

Very useful IMO and working as intended as far as I understand (i.e not making mob's shit tick faster). All those nasty effects that lower DPS and are generally annoying last 30% less. What's not to like, especially on something like VS where you're getting feared and stuned constantly.
I have not tested this myself though just an FYI. Only going on from what I've heard in that it was fixed.

well i use it and sometimes I have the feeling it is still bugged. While I think stuns/stiffles and such without a dot are reduced correctly, I cannot change my feeling that as before stuns/stiffles etc with a dot on them are lasting LONGER - which is caused by the designers who did not think about waht they already had in game (mobs with effects) and that fancy new effect for a troub (and btw who plays this char anyways :P )
anyone proven this has been fixed? I had that feeling in T7 but now I start thinking it's bugged again in T8

I have never noticed this being bugged and extending nor have i noticed dots ticking faster. Sonic is a huge boost to any encounter with long duration uncurable effects, frequent stuns/stiffles, and any encounter with a reactive effect like golems in ToNT or Avatar of Flame.

it definatly was bugged in the early T7 days and got fixed after 2 months or so, till then if mobs had a stiffle/stun with a dot, you were stunned/stiffled longer - that realy sucked!!

There's loads of mobs I use this on. Anything that has any kind of annoying or significant debuff or stun/stifle, it's worth applying SI.
Some stuff that springs to mind is the trash in VP (spaz chickens, drakes etc with the stun/stifle thing they do), Phara Dar debuff on the tank, VS/OK reactive fear/stifle... All this shit is less annoying when it doesn't last as long.
