Having been in NPU for a time and getting to know Ballads a little bit, he knows the class. There's not one person that can dispute that. Whether you disagree with his ethics regarding his guild or not, no one can question his knowledge of the class. Further, when we were all bashing our heads against the wall looking for the Epic update that ultimately turned up in City of Mist, who was it that finally stepped forward and broke the news to the troubs WW? Sure as fuck wasn't the dude on Blackburrow who took the info in channel, but didn't give back any before ultimately discovering the item. It was Ballads.

Now Honey, from being guilded with you on Mistmoore for several months (this is Tome/Malicor), you're a pretty reasonable guy. Surely, you can see that one ill-fated decision that doesn't at all affect his performance as a Troubador shouldn't eliminate the months of successful leading of these forums that Ballads has.

I'm not tring to take sides here but I do believe people still aren't reading threw this thread and just posting the samething everyone else is saying. This thread doesnt seem like it's challenging Ballads skill as a Troubador or as a Mod. I think as our class mod he is look to as a leader to many and seeing what has happen with NPU and his knowledge of this stuff he remained and boosted of theyre achievements which where lies? So I think the question is do we want to have someone like this representing us?

Afaik a cheater is a player who exploits game mechanics, otherwise you're basically calling everyone with knowledge of the game a cheater.

I don't see how the recent happenings effect his skills as a player. With your logic a hockey player would loose his skills in the rink if he for example robbed a store. (He might end up in jail but that's another story).

So Ballads, how involved were you with getting strats from devs for ww firsts? Seems to me that a lot of people are assuming a lot of things. Did he find out about com update for our epic from a dev? I think the only way I would feel good about having him as any sort of class lead would be if he fully disclosed all interaction/help he has had from devs for doing who knows what. It's not necessarily about what you have done but how honest you are with the community you boast about being the lead of.

After all that has been said and done I really don't know what to think, that is if i'm even entitled to my own thoughts on the matter. Seems to be alot of pressure to shush and sweep this under the carpet... why not have an open honest discussion about it? O yea, cuz Ballads said if you don't like it to suck his dick...

These are just random thoughts off the top of my heads as I read through this forum. Ballads response is what sparked my interests though and has me thinking about shit I usually don't really care to get involved in. So figured I would ask what hasn't been asked yet in this forum.

ballads is a horrible board mod. please look at the troub forums.
stickied threads: design the epic and epic quest info (not a walkthrough, just a discussion).

we constantly get new posts about "what's the best gear for x?" or "what AA spec?"
why are there not stickied information threads? instead of saying "you can find then info you're looking for in any other post" you can say "check the appropriate sticky".

the job of a moderator is to organize the board and facilitate the community's needs on this forum. class moderator does carry the mark of being an outstanding player of that class. however, you don't have to be a good player to do the moderator job. you don't even have to play the class. what you do need is someone who will spend some quality time maintaining the forum as a resource for other players. right now, it's a disorganized mess.

so you guys can suck ballads off all day about how great you think he is, but that doesn't improve the quality of the forum.

I am of mixed emotion here, after thinking about things for a couple of days I am starting to agree with what Kyros is saying. I am also having some trouble with a leader/mentor having ties with unethical people. This troub forum is a mess, just like Kyros has said, no really organization and tbh Dants/Pinksi offer more advice then he does. I will agree with all of you that Ballads is a great Troubie, but can someone that has just as much knowledge and skill and one that DOESN'T cheat do better?

Those are the questions I have been asking myself lately. I would feel alot better if Ballads came here to express his opinion of what has happen, and try to reconnect with his fellow classmates, I have looked up to Ballads since rolling my troub back in 05' as I am sure others have. I can also imagine I am not the only one who is extremely disappointed with what we have found out. Either way this forum is a mess, and I can think of a few people that could take his place. These are just my two cents as I have been thinking about it lately...

Good point. We are all fucked unless SOE changes the encounter. Otherwise we are all just a bunch of bot farmers, or bot test guilds .

Finally someone makes a valid point. You are right i probably should take some time to organize this board some and will try to get to that in the next few days. Tho i don't always respond to every question i do read them all, and check the answers that people give to make sure there is no purposely misleading information. Pinski and dants are people who post responses to a lot of peoples questions because thats what they do surf eq2flames and respond to anything they have information on. I find its better to let other post what they think is best and correct any false information i find. I'm not constantly trolling here, but i do check here multiple times each day.

My involvement or lack of with the lies and half truths being spread about my guild has nothing to do with me being mod of this forum. Don't ask me to comment on those because i will not. That is the reason i told the op they can suck my cock. It has nothing to do with my ability to mod this thread. If i wanted to discuss those issues i would do it in the thread that contained them.
