That is what i would start with tho not for the DA as much. If your soloing board and sword is a really nice way to go and the extra stun from shield bash will serve you well. After you get what you want out of that line if your still soloing primarily I would recommend heading to the eof tree and grab the duration enhancements to your control effects. Working your way down to harmonization.

I am more interested in becoming a support type, force multiplier than in becoming the best DPS troubador.

I have read Ballads recommendations and followed his guidelines pretty closely. However I feel that since Troubadors are not the greatest Melee'ers nor the greatest casters, our greatest asset is to serve as a raid enhancer.

I want to increase my group/raid members DPS to assist in defeating some of the high powered bosses in VP. What is the best overall spec for a raiding Troubador.

P.S. We normally have 2 Troubadors in our raid force. The other troubador is DPS specced and usually makes the DPS parse barely. I am more interested in making my melee and casters more effective. Any tips/tricks/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The problem with that is what are you gonna do with the other 45 seconds of ever minute? The very best a troub can hope to do for his group members.....

1.The proper 13 buffs cast before each fight (sometimes this may vary but not much.) This is all done and decided on before pull.

2. A solid JC Rotation. This takes you about 4 seconds of casting for each minute of fighting.

3. PotM every time its up. Every or every other cast (depending on pull speed) give yourself jc after you cast it. If you have 2 troubs in your raid set up act or find some other way to time them post mythical. This takes about 3 seconds every fight.

4. Apply and maintain our 6 primary debuffs. Spell Rebuff, Dispirited Processional,Sonic Interference,Chaos Anthem, Depressing Chant, and Bright Blade. Altogether about 7-8 seconds each minute of fighting.

Now the other 3/4 of the time what are you gonna do? There is no mix up of AA that is gonna give you proactive group buffs to cast that is gonna take up this time. Your gonna be dpsing or doing nothing. So to benefit you and your raid you do what you can do you must dps.

To put it another way.A lot difference between high parsing guilds and low parsing guilds is the dps output of their support classes.

Thanks for your input Ballads. I have played a Necro since EQ2 first came on line and am still learning about Troubs. I made my troub because my guild was knocking on the door of VP and needed another troubador. Since playing him I have learned to love the class and I finally know why so many groups and guilds want a good Troubador.

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Is this still the currently accepted normal? I can't see the benefit of the harmonization line at all for a raid spec. group spec it's great, but raid spec? Cheap shot, Sonnet, Stifling Missle, and Peaceful Mealody? Is this a jeapordy and we're in the "What Doesn't Work In Raids At All Or 99% Of The Time" category?

Harmonization makes our HOTs tick faster on our group, and our DOTs tick faster, correct? I have to imagine there are better things to spend our troub AA on than 21 points for JUST this ability.

to put my opinion in perspective, i'm generally in the caster group with a fury solo healing us (add defiler if we have spike aoe damage problems). I dont usually have the Necro, though i do occassionally, and iirc summoners are the big DOT dpsrs.. no?
