no reason to run it unless you get 2 set pieces. other than that mages still got over 90% hit rate on spells after mob is debuffed. oh if you got a warlock thats more than enough too!

Ya I am usually running with a warlock. I havent heard any mages in my guild complaining yet but saw a lil bit on the boards so had to come in here to see if it would be a idea and considering I am not playing a caster i really am not sure of how much they are getting resisted and so forth.

i hear alot of higher end troubs use it, cause with illy's epic they dont need to run mana regain (from what i've been told) and the 2 piece set...

On named encounters focused around add swarms, yes I say put it up absolutely. 3 lines of debuffs don't exist when you're rapidly burning heroics or 2x's.

I run it as my 'extra' buff with the 2 piece bonus. But yeah, if you have an illu in group with mythical then your mana song is potentially more of a hindrance than a help. Song of Magic may or may not be helping (haven't compared with/without parses) but it's got the potential to do something, compared to the mana song which just annoys your illu.
The real question is... When you have the 2 piece bonus, what OTHER buff to run? HP regen? No.... Elemental/Arcane ward? Situational.... Defense? No..... Requiem? Situational if at all.... Hmmm.
Well at least VM is being nerfed so illu's won't care about power anymore.

That's got to be it for me - it's the next best thing to run if you have a free conc slot, and usually the first thing I drop when something else is needed (which is rare, since resist songs are covered by the 2nd Troub).

Arcane should be up all the time for 1 troubador just because of how many people use chokers now.
But yah, it's basically the only thing to run, and even then running bria's is still a waste if you have a zerker in raid, even though you don't have much else to run, lol.
I guess, if you have 6-slots to run buffs, run: +casting, str/sta, de-aggro, spell proc, haste(even though that is pretty useless if you have an illusionist in group too!), ward!
Then drop haste for RoR, and then drop str/sta for maybe a 2nd ward if you only ahve 1 troub in raid, if not well, you pretty much can run all 6 of those buffs full time, and split the wards between the 2 of you.

Note though that RoR is really only useful on mobs that spam detrimental effecs on your group, mostly Avatars and bosses like Byzola.
Also, Pinski's "if you have an illusionist" comment requires said illusionist to have the mythical, same goes for dropping mana regen.
Personally, I always run the haste song and swapped out any +haste items instead, replacing them with +crit or +dps mod.
In the end it comes down to group setup and equipment of your group which songs you should run, which is good in my opinion.
