Default New to raiding on the Troub

So some questions. I fully admit I'm not well versed in raiding, nor am I high end.

My typical group in raids appears to be:

SK
Troub
Fury
Warlock
Necro
Illy

Forget the flames on the group setup, the SK is the GL and for the most part the RL. I can talk to him about changes if I get some good input here though.

Anyways, some questions. I have PotM M1, Aria's M1, Jesters M1 so I am pretty much set in regards to bringing dps to my group. My question is who should I be JC'ing as the only troub on the raid? I run Fetish UI so I can click whoever I want to in the raid and give them JC so its just a matter of clicking the classes who will benefit the most. Oh, I'm also not epic, nor mythical nor is my Illusionist. Figure I'd steer clear of the AA choices and buff choice suggestions regarding how mythicals alter the raid play of a troub.

Second question. What will bring my DPS up the most in a raid setting? I'm running about 450 Spell Dmg and 10% to melee, Casting, Ranged and DA for other mods. I was thinking crits are the main focus, but I wanted to know approx what the Spell damage cap was for us Troubs.

Third Question. What is a good casting order? Do you PotM on engage to maximize the debuffs proccing it as well or do you wait for something else? A good breakdown of how the raiding troubs do their thing with a generalization of where I should expect my DPS numbers to be.

Fourth Question. Buffs, which buffs from the group members should I ask to have to maximize my dps contribution? With the SK I realize most of the melee buffs will be going his direction and not mine.

I'll probably have more input as I get some feedback but those are some good starter questions.

JCap thread: http://www.eq2flames.com/troubadors/20454-t8-jcap.html

For AA's see the AA thread. Even without mythicals, Ballads post is still the best build. You may want to put 5 in Power Ballad though and 2 in Spell Rebuff though.

Double Attack, then melee crits, then spell crits, then +CA damage, then +spell damage. Most people would probably agree with this order. Try to get good 1-handers!

Here's a post I made during T7. Since you'll probably have Bump AA now, it's a little outdated so remember to throw Bump - Nightstrike combo into that order also:

Try to get Tandem or Haste from the Illusionist. You probably won't be able to get DA or Feral, since he'll get those. Also Grasp of Bertoxxulos from the Warlock.

Great info, thanks for the response Dants.

Would it be possible for you to post a SS of your hotbars? I'm curious how you have it setup. I like to be able to just move my mouse from left to right along my normal casting order which I'm currently revising but I was curious how others do it. I click like mad once the timers are all doing their thing but I'm trying to waste as little time as possible moving my mouse around as timers get skewed and a fight progresses.

I read a comment on the profitUI and I'm assuming Fetish is similar regarding the movement of the mouse taking you away from tearing through combat arts. Does that still hold true? Any creative solutions? I already run 5 hotbars as is and would hate to add any more to macro all the targets I'd JC.

Thanks again.

I can post a SS of my hotbars when I get home from work.

There's no good solution to this but to use a bunch of macros. Honestly it's the best and most reliable way. Although I have an RT macro, I'm not a fan of RT macroing for JC or using a raid UI for JC.

My group window is from when I used to play my templar a lot and used it sometimes and am lazy and never changed it back.

My profit UI raid window buttons are not configured, so no one can call me a hyprocrit!

Am I the only one still using point and click? lol. I have a jc macro for brigand only. The rest I target and hit a standard macro.

Before you ask, no, my dps doesn't suck as a result. I guess it's just what you're used to.

Mass use ability macros are the only way to go imo.

Generally I have a fairly standard "rotation" for JC . . . I know who I'm going to use it on.

I haven't had the chance to test it yet, but . . .

Why not create one macro with four lines, each one is a useabilityonplayer for JC to each of the folks in your JC rotation. If the person in question is JC immune, it will skip to the next person in the macro until it finds someone who isn't immune, then JC's them.

Sounds feasible anyway.

You can't send a tell to the person that it casts it on doing it that way.

Therefore, people won't know they have the buff and might not use their long recasting abilities.

Lesser of two evils then. I dunno. Macro scripting is pretty limited and I don't have any ability toward creating a good ACT plug-in.

It seems to work, so I'm gonna use it until a better solution comes along.
