Lag has a big impact, however, our raid parses seem generally comparatively low on my parser.
Same here, I've hit 3950, and that was buffed quite well. However, my parses dropped like a rock when I got put in this group:

Troub
Fury
Wizard
Conjuror
Illusionist
Assassin

compared to this group:

Troub
Fury
Wizard
Warlock
Illusionist
Conjuror

Now, it's obvious why. I expect I'll break that 4k part when we get some mythicals, however, the lack of a healthy recruiting class out there, we're still stuck on the right set-up for Druushk and Nexona.

i still havent really got the answer i am looking for though...should my spell crit be higher? i messed around on the training wall for two hours and my parses finally approached my dirges when i dumped some DA and melee crit gear in favor of spell crit stuff...as it stands now i have 16% spell crit and 28% DA and melee crit...should I go for more spell stuff or leave as is and try to get better with my timing?

Without having a single piece of raid gear I have 27% (35% w/ epic proc) spell crit and it certainly seems to help my DPS more than all the melee gear I can get.

It probably comes down to how well-equiped your raid is though. Mythicals would change things alot.

Still can't give you a definitive answer, but need to make this remark:
Keep in mind that you do mostly mental damage, which you as a Troub can debuff very well.
However, you cannot get the mob's mitigation down like it would be in a raid (Brigand, e.g.), thus your overall melee numbers on the training wall will be lower and less important than what you would see in a combat environment.

very true. well, at this point i am just trying to balance out gear, i got some pieces with more spell crit and spell damage, and in general my parse has gone up, still not as good as the dirge, but, again, its better than it was...i guess time will help teach me how to play the character. thanks for the input and help everyone, and if any VP'ers have any tips on what works best for them in regards to spell VS melee and which produces the best dps gains, or even a benchmark of what each stat should look like, that would be great!
