So ive been perusing the forums and the eq2 officals and still havent found really any good information for ca and spell set up what to fire when to fire it off. At the moment my instance run zone wide parse is about 500dps not that great. And from what ive been reading people are hiting 2 to 4k dps. Im just not comming any ware near this i think i would be happy with a consistent 1.5k. Well for the nitty gritty this is what my gear looks like. EverQuest II Players

I have a couple items in my bag waiting to come into my inventory but as you can see im still only 78. But moven threw vls preaty fast. Ive played a brigand so i was use to timming my swing on a one handed weapon but haven troubles usign duel wields trying to time it. Any help would be greatful and appraciated.

Go practice on the training wall until you get 2k. Seriously. That's exactly what I did.

I can get 2k on the wall with a Troub wearing no raid gear at all. I do have my epic.

Don't expect to shake the world in a group, most mobs die too fast for your DPS to even get started. Further, in a group your extDPS starts when the first damage is done to the mob, usually by the tank. It takes a few seconds for the mob to arrive, further dinging your DPS.

I got a 1500 ZW in Chelsith and was pretty happy with it.

would recommend trying to bring up your Int which would help with your dps as it is pretty low at 197 unbuffed.

as for casting order not played my troub in 3ish months and was mainly 2 boxed (buff bot) then so i can't really help with that sorry

I don't know what you have in your bags, but I would recommend getting some stuff off of this list:

Reet collection helm (broker)
Fish Embroided Gloves (solo quest)
Fulgent Armguards of Sagacity (broker)
Trooper Scale Boots (broker)
Baldric of the Di'Zok Warlord (collection, broker)
Danak Wishbone (broker)
Wristwrap of the Culinary Apprentice (quested)
Tormented Bracelet of Doom (broker)
Woven Silk Underlay (quested)
Assassin's Stud (broker)
Talisman of Thuuga (quested)
Reet Eye Ring (quested)
Ayonic Axe (fabled version, quested)

and get some other cloak, hell even the good old Zek cloak will outparse the one you have right now.

I'll promise you that if you just get the quested pieces you should see improvements
in your DPS, get all of the above and you should see even more improvements, and don't forget to adorn your gear, make sure you have the DPS adorns on the neck and bow because those adorns makes up for quite a lot of damage.

After that it's just practice, practice practice, try the wall as previous poster commented, do different rotations until you find the one that suits your style and still maximizes the DPS output.

Thanks for the help guys. I changed out some of my gear for some of these quest items and some boughten items. My dps was averaging 1.3k now wich is a k more then when i started. I think i need to change out a couple other peices of gear and adorn the new stuff to get a little better and try maybe a different set up on my cas and spell line up.

One more thing: hotbar layout.
Make sure that you cluster all your debuffs, and all your CAs/spells, so when you dps, you dont have to move your mouse too much - it does help.

speaking of which, is there a good post somewhere in the troub forum about some general spell/CA order is best? I've searched around for a bit, and there are general ideas, good beginnings, but no real agreement or even argumentative list.

I understand it's not rocket science to figure out "hit the highest damage of whatever is up first," But i'm sure that the troub class is a bit more complicated than that, and i'm always looking for ways to improve my "Minstral Cycle"
