Excellent post. Very clear and easy to understand and figure out. Once I get home I am setting this up.

My idea is this:
Is there a posibility to make a ingame macro that can cast JCap on the last person who sent you a tell?
Combined with the macros posted in previous posts. You could have a player request JCap in a direct tell(would have to be formated correctly). You see this and then use the macro to target the person who sent you the tell, it then Jesters them, and notes this in the JCap channel, enabling the triggers to run and the timmer to begin.

It might take some getting use to by other players requesting JCap. But once they notice how much more good they can do. You could manage 5 maybe 10 people easy.

This would be the next step to this macro for Jcap. Would make it so much eaiser to JCap the right people at the right time.

Any thoughts or ideas? Anybody know how to target the last person to send you a tell or have JCap cast directly on that player?

Side Note- Say you have two troubs in raid. If you worked closely with the other troub and had the posting the correct chat in the JCap channel. You could have both troubs runing the triggers and know who has JCap.... just a thought....

Off the top of my head:
/useabilityontarget %rt Jester's Cap

Or better, use the Macro GUI and just put "%rt" into the target box.

Coolness I will try that tonight after work. The only other soloution I could think of is the click to cast raid and group windows. I was having trouble with my UI last night getting the buttons to work. Talking with the UI programer. %rt would make it where I only have 3 JC macros and keep the macros ingame so others could eaisly use the macro.

One for a direct target:
/useabilityontarget %t <Jester's Cap>
/tell %t INC Jester's
/tellchannel "jcap channel" JCap on %t

One for myself:
/useabilityontarget MyName <Jester's Cap>
/tellchannel "jcap channel" JCap on MyName

One for the person who just sent a tell:
/useabilityontarget %rt <Jester's Cap>
/tell %rt INC Jester's
/tellchannel "jcap channel" JCap on %rt

Setting up the tirggers worked perfectly!! btw

confirmed!!! %rt worked with the ingame macros.

my macro now
useabilityon Jester's Cap on %rt
/tell %rt INC Jester's Cap!!!
/tellchannel "mychannel" JCap on %rt

get people to make a macro that sends you a tell so you can Jcap them at the best times.

Since this got bumped, I've given up all of my immunity timers in ACT and use Aditu's new UI toy instead, and I'm much happier:

Buff Immunity Timers/Notification(JCap/Gravitas)

Oh, and the Shadow AA enhanced Jester's now has appropriate flavor text in the log so you can use a regexp to capture:

Similarly, people that you cast Jester's on can now use a trigger that matches to let them know the second that Jester's lands on them:

One macro 4 or how many lines you wish; and hit the jesters button every time its up, it will cast on the next person in the list who does not have immunity; same works for gravitas as well.

Anyone else's EQ2 crashing 5% of the time when you JCap somebody with that mod enabled? It's not random, crashed thrice right after capping someone, and I practically never crash and haven't since I uninstalled the mod

It's proximity based, but yes, everyone sees it.

The full flavor text follows.

To a third party:

Troubname begins to play the song of the Jester.
An augmentation song affects Targetname.
The Jester inspires Targetname.

From the perspective of the recipient:

Troubname begins to play the song of the Jester.
An augmentation song affects you.
You feel inspired by the Jester.

From the perspective of the caster:

You begin to play the song of the Jester.
An augmentation song affects Targetname.
The Jester inspires Targetname.

Self cap:

You begin to play the song of the Jester.
An augmentation song affects you.
You feel inspired by the Jester.

So using

you can capture everyone that is cap'd in your vicinity except for yourself. Which does, of course, grossly simplify the earlier solution since you don't need any channel spam to pick your own up, and you don't need complex regexps to cover for the fact that the other troub in raid has a tendency to change their JCap chat messages on a daily basis. ;)
