/sigh....to be abosolutely clear, POWER BALLAD SUCKS FUCKING BALLS AND SHOULD BE YOUR ABSOLUTE LAST OPTION FOR POWER REGEN, PERIOD...is that clear enough? No? Lets do some math for it. Lets look at power ballad, the tier 8 version with 3 AA's in it (just using it as an example cause that's what I have right now) and it gives a whopping 69 power per tic (6 seconds) so over the course of a minute, you regen 690 power. Now lets look at the RE2 collection piece. You can buy this collection off the broker for probably less than 20 plat. Eaaaaasy to get, right? Over the course of a minute, it's theoretically up for 34.6 seconds (this is without any proc modifiers) and regens power at a rate of 135 every 4.8 seconds. This comes about 972 power regened by this item alone over the course of a minute. A 40% increase over power ballad...and that's just one item. Add in the proc increasers from dirges, warlocks, shard bp's, etc and power ballad loses even more ground. Then add in the other items the group might have that have a proc similar to this but it's for the group....i think you see where i'm going with this. It's crap and should be your absolute last option for power regen. Hell dude, it's not even enough to compensate for the power costs of your debuffs. Find some other song to put up than this trash.

    Wheres my cake?
    In my pants

POTM recast timer wont start ticking until it is done with its effect. After 32 seconds or whatever. So JC is wasted in the way that your POTM recast timer hasnt even started. And now your immune, have to wait the full length for another potm.

Look retard. If jcap is on you at THE VERY LEAST when potm ends, it decreases the reuse timer for potm. So indulge a little bit and make the most of potm for yourself and jcap yourself right before you potm. This way, drums please, you can get off as many spells as possible while it's up and, zomg with the AA enhanced jcap all of your crits will hit harder...giving you some extra dps....it's not rocket science. Jcap duration 36seconds, potm duration 34 seconds. Would you like me to do the math here too? :P

I will be happy when i get my cake.

Be in opposition, thats fine. I just get the feeling you are really trying to find stuff to discredit. Then again i had been awake for 30 hours when i wrote that post.

Take it however you want it, i don't care.

edited to clarify a little more...

The song makes a difference when your grouping and groups do expect you to have it up. If you still disagree on that its fine but im still gonna use it. I cant expect everyone i meet to have mana proccing gear.

Seems im totally fucking wrong here. Just tried both with a timer and capping yourself directly after potm earns you about 30 sec. I humbly apoligize and will edit it.

    Cant find anything!

Having power ballad up in group makes as much difference as a grain of sand trying it's hardest to erode the Hoover dam.

It's roughly a measly 15% or less increase to a players innate power regen. So lets play the numbers game again. The difference, over the coarse of a minute of regen'ing power is about 8 seconds....ie- if you regened normally without power ballad, you'd have to wait an extra 8 seconds for every minute with power ballad <gasp> "oh noes! whatever will i do! My heroic group that doesn't have the game knowledge to grab themselves a power regen item was planning on chain pulling this entire zone non-stop, whatever will we do!"

Face it dude, it's crap and it's been crap since RoK. If it makes you feel better to have that placebo, then go for it. There will ALWAYS be a better song selection to put up for your group than power ballad and it'll stay that way until SoE decides to do something it. Sorry to burst your bubble.

While all of these constraints are technically correct, there are times in both PUGs and raids where it is very handy to have Bladedance at your disposal. I spec it because I like have it at my disposal.

A couple of points, with gear I'm at 33 or 36 seconds instead of 30 sec. Yes the reuse is bad, but JCap can help out with that. Often I'll do a zone with a PUG and there is one mob where it keeps folks alive. When raiding it is good to use tortoise shell (the druid AoE blocker) on the pull and then blade dance after that once people have spread out a bit, assuming the mob is one that takes more than 30 seconds to burn down.

    Better to Jcap a druid.
See above about reuse and JCap, also sometimes you want both the druid blocker and blade dance. And sometimes you just don't have a druid in your group. As for spending 22 points in strength, yeah I'd definitely pick something else if it weren't for blade dance. My dps suffers for sure.

This means, that if someone either summons or uses a heart or shard, they lose immunity. Additionally, chokers and mob damage shields will drop the immunity. And forget about using mana stone.

    * Once you, as the caster take any damage, the spell is dispelled.
This means, as before, your use of a choker or power items, or a mob damage shield hit results in immunity lost for your group.

*25 meter range limits your ability to joust and protect your group, which should be at max range.
Good points. However, I'm usually using blade dance early in a fight when people aren't using hearts/shards/manastones. As for the choker, if I knew there was an AE out there I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be wearing it if I couldnt' take the hit.

This is not correct, if the Troubadour takes damage it only dispells it on himself, like for every other member of the group.
    This was changed/fixed mid-RoK.
    Pfft.

I respecced yesterday to have turnstrike tried out. Was afraid it would decrease dps seriously but it wasnt so bad. Tested on training wall and i did roughly 200 dps less then when i had 8 points in poision(now 3). Now to see where it will work..

Im just gonna trust you that those numbers are correct. And if they are im just curious, what the fuck will a troub do when a group/raid seeks a REGEN and you show up and dont play it?! Its expected to play the stupid song so why not. Having browsed through all the items in the game and thinking about having a mana proc item on you is good and all but it cant be more then say 10% who plays with that kind of elite thinking. Hardcore raiders and other very dedicated ppl.. I want that earring btw but it costs over 100p on my server ><! Still what im saying is there is a lot players out there who dont bother thinking about half of what they could do in the game and if you PUG your gonna play with them.

I did the same respec recently, and I must say that I will never turn away from it anymore..
3 Points is ok and the 10 sec of imunity is just awesome

I dont see any loss in my dps, the free second make up for what you would normally loose on a joust..

Rage quitting and then not remembering alot of stuff CERTAINLY qualifies you to write a FAQ thread.....
