So, since PotM dazes us (crappy as it is)... How does one make the most of a bad situation dps-wise and what gear supports the mage-grouped troubie who casts this as soon as it's up (even on single targets)?

I realize that this hurts troubs dps potential, I don't need to be told that, so please do not go into why it's dumb to do it. I'm simply asking for tips and setups to resonate with this particular set up to do as much personal dps as possible.


The first obvious pieces are high int and proccing gear, but above that, what would you use?

Spell crit adorns for weaps?
The dw off of Elani with the +mental dmg?
Symbol w/ +45 mental?
Bolt of Energy items?

I've thought a lot about gear setups that buck the typical Troub recommendations and hope to hear some ideas I haven't thought about.

What would you do?

I usually never have an Illusionist/Fury in my group.

Well last night, I had the pleasure of having both. My buffed int was 800+ doesn't do much past 700 that I noticed but anyways, str was 600 didn't notice much diff when I did /weapon so I took down raxxyls, and the lowest my DPS was on an encounter was 748 when I Was slacking on one of the fights. Anyways, just beg for an Illu/Fury, or at least an Illu/Temp(for blessings). That is the answer to all of my problems lately

Skirting the question by suggesting buffs from other classes (which may or may not be available) does nothing to address my question. What would/can YOU do to boost dps in your situation. Meaning, that I want to know what someone would do in this scenario that is directly under their control (if you're the raid leader, building the group around yourself is cheating here).

Using other classes skills/buffs does little to help YOUR skill out in dpsing. But for sake of argument, say this was your setup:

Conjy
Wiz
Warlock
Pally (or another mage)
Fury (assume you do not have agitate)
Troub

Any gear with procs would help, I got the neck from clockwork so when I hit potm i can macro that neck on fast, get plenty of procs out of it, and return to using the moa neck. Could also look into getting a Vzee'Rist Sash of Draining, Bracelet of Thule, Finger Bone Manacles, Coif of the Harmonious, BCG, and if your guild has the favor of the Avatar of Loot, Ring of Supremacy.

I have: BoT, FBM, BCG, RoS and use a Sour Song Choker rather than the MoA for the additional 2% spell crit.

Matron bracelet would be rad, but I'm pretty sure I'll never get that.
