Default Whats a Troub all about?

After posting in the general section, most referred me back to class specific forums to seek out the answers I seek.

Currently I'm trying to understand how the Swash/Troub/Dirge and Brigand differ. So I've come to the troub forums hoping you fellow troubs might shed some light on what your class is about. Specifically:

1) Do you solo well?
2) What is your role on raids?
3) Are you very gear dependant to perform your job well?
4) How does your DPS compare to say the other scout classes I mentioned?

Any Information would be appreciated.

1) So so
2) Buffs for the casters primarily, other classes 2ndary
3) Gear dependance is based on how much dps you want to put out. More so by far than the other scouts.
4) Even well geared up we suck hind tit compared to other scouts.

1) Not as a raider spec'd Troub, and even still not as well as the others listed.

2) Buff group, Debuff mob, DPS mob, and Jester's Cap proper classes

3) I would say all classes are gear dependent to DPS to their full potential.

4) If you count how much damage we add via our songs, plus a good DPSing troub, I would say we are on par for helping out the raid as a whole with DPS.

I started an Arsai trouby the other day, so far, I'm having a blast and of course, my guild can't wait until I get her high enough to bring her on raids.

I've been grouped with one before and other than what they did for me, I know so very little about this class.

1. What stats should I worry with, in what order?
2. Spell upgrades first then gear? Or gear then spells?
3. Since I will be using this toon for raiding, what AA branches should I worry about?

Thanks for any info!

1) With lvl 50/70 mez, you can kill almost anything single target that isn't immune to mesmerize effects. Takes a while but that's not the question :P
2) Buff, debuff, dps
3) Dependant, decent weapons needed, as much proc/crit gear as you can get. Depends on how far you wanna take it :P
4) About equal to the dirges (depending on the dirges gear/spells/player), far below rogues.

1) Int > Str > Agi > Sta > Wis. That's my order of importance anyway.
2) Both and everything :P for soloing to level up gear will matter, but then again, so does spell quality. If you group alot, one would guess the buffs should take priority. At lower levels (and some in the higher levels) the bard scaling (tm) makes some spell upgrades pointless still.
3) Raiding bards KoS aa lines are Str and Wis. From EoF aa, Bria's, Aria, Precision and Jester's enhancements are very nice. The rest don't matter that much.

Not going to copy and paste and answer your questions, but yea, troubs are a cool class if you accept that we're their to make the group better. It's one of the classes that can really make a group better then the sum of their parts. We're never going to put out monster DPS, but we will help the group that we're in do.

Yep, and its quite fun to Jesters the Wizard just to see him die.
Also, taking off Serenade as soon as the Necro casts lifeburn can be priceless :D
And who doesnt fire up Potm just for the Warlock to see him die?

Ive had too much fun on my troubador...

A mans worst nightmare is to outlive his fictional Troubador
