Looking for core group of players to group with

Hey everyone...I'm looking for a core group of people to start grouping with. I am new relatively new to EQ2, but definitely not new to MMOs. I have an extensive background in raiding, from both EQ1 as well as tons in WoW.

My toon is currently a level 65 Illusionist (90/140 AAs so far), which I understand isn't end game content quite yet, but wanted to find a group of players close to the same level who are looking to get into some of the more difficult content later in the game. I'm tired of having people from random PUGs drop out spontaneously, as well as poor performance. My guild is focused on TSing, soloing, and ad hoc groups such as HQs; there's also some committment issues (i.e. people say their going to go, then people duck out last minute, and the group falls apart because the guildies understandably don't want to group with anyone else). I do enjoy the people in my guild, so I'm not necessarily looking for a new guild and am also not asking anyone to leave theirs.

I'd like to find a group of players on the unrest server who are interested in grouping a couple of nights a week, for all intents and purposes of prepping for end game content. If they're interested in continuing this group for raiding purposes, I am also interested in that as well (I want to experience raiding from the ground up).

The specifics of when and where can be worked out later. For now I'm just hoping that I can find some competent, reliable, and competitive minded players who are interested in playing with a core group of players on a regular basis, and seeing where we can take it from there.

welcome to eq2 where the only consistent groups that you might get are guild groups/nasty pugs at level 80

Yeah, that's what I'm starting to realize, and it's totally understandable. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask though; hopefully there are 5 other players out there who are interested in grouping. Otherwise, I'll continue my level grind the last 15 levels and then look into raiding again.

I might be wrong in thinking this but you would probably have better luck on the official boards. I would say the large majority of people who read these boards are already 80. The official boards probably have a lot more people who aren't at the level cap yet. Though you may find some luck with people wanting groups for their alts here.

haha....actually, in a way that's kind of where I'd like to start this. I figure if I can find some like minded players, then at the very least it may form a core for some raiding later on. I don't mind, and have on many occasions, jumping in on a guild that's already passed T1, but I do find part of the experience of starting at the beginning a lot of fun.

Just curious on the level 80 content, as a few posts above indicated what I was afraid of which is that there is a) leveling content b) tradeskill content and C) level 80 content in EQ2.

I would love to see some really tough 6 man instances in EQ2. I'm not to level 80 yet, so it may exist. So far the instances have been somewhat of a joke compared to what I'm used to in MMOs though.

Anyway...I'll keep checking this thread for now. Good idea on posting in general chat here as well; I figured I'd start with the server thread.
