Since i cannot access SOE's site from over here in Iraq..(damn Internet police) I was woundering what people could tell me about the upcoming expansion...Rise of the Kunark is it not? I have heard some about it from being over here...but thats just rumors probably.. Anyone know the date it goes out ect ect..? Do you guys think it will be a big hit like EOF was? I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Ok, quick disclaimer... I'm drunk and just got done leading a raid, so take all I say with a grain of salt :p

I believe RoK comes out somewhere between nov. 14th - 16th. It is going to increase the lvl cap from lvl 70 to lvl 80.

There are GREAT hopes for the expansion (at least by me) because the people who did the original ruins of kunark in eq1 are going to designe RoK for eq2. The new playable race is the sarnak, but they are only going to introduce 1 or 2 zones for them, going up to lvl 30 I believe, at which time they will have to adventure beyond kunark, and return only when they are ready to face the higher end challenges.

In addition, they are re-introducing epic weapons into the game. If you played eq1, you know what those are. If you didn't, they were weapons that were class specific and of immense power. However, they were of immense difficulty to achieve.

All in all, the current buzz and outlook for RoK is hopeful. I believe the eq2 team is learning with each expansion and hopefully this expansion will be an even further step in the right direction.

if u think about it, its taken eq2 almost as long to get to the point where eq1 became what a majority of ppl remeber it as. they improved certain things faster than others but mind u the game is designed to last over 10 yrs.
from the looks of everything so far, concept art, overview and the like, it wont disapoint. yes ull have to grind to 80, but eventually were all gunna have to go to 100+ if u stay with it long enough. content was big in EoF, so considdering they did lvls 1-70 with that, rok should be even better. since their only doing 1-20 and focusing mainly on 70-80 im bettin on alot more raid content, good instances and probly a hand full of epic/ claymoore-esk type quests. so im sure we'll have plenty to do.

lol, should be midnight on 11/13... but like I said it will be adjusted for the projected server up time on whatever day they decide to roll the xpak to live.

Thanks HH! I still want to nail down a solid theme, and add a few more graphics for it.

Guild Portal grates on my nerves a bit, but serves it's purpose. I much prefer a robust CMS and having complete control over my themes, databases, etc... Webspace is always good too, can never have enough webspace, ya know. ;)
