Re: Dear Acolas and Inquis - [vid]
Who gives a fuck about titles? I proved anyone can get a high title running around in a stacked group when I hit General within one week of solid T8 PvP within a stacked group, and then lost General running solo. Hell, I succumb to insanity and run into a x4 for the fun of it, just out of boredom.
Title does not prove skill (per say). It might prove how good some people are at ganking, or avoiding losing battles, i.e. scouts being able to evac from any odds.
Maybe on Naggy you can tell who has some skill where you encounter group fights while your timers are down, because there is enough PvP, you'll constantly be fighting unless you move to the cities, or into immunity until your big timers are back. But on Venekor you'll almost have all your big timers, and for many classes the big timers makes a difference. On my Warlock it's a matter of 1k DPS, or 1800DPS which is huge in a group on group fight.
However, if you want to obtain a high title, and feel good about it, more power to you. I will say that any good PvPer (who isn't always running solo, or doesn't have evac) should be able to maintain Champion, with a few exceptions, so maybe there is a little skill involved with holding a title, but not much.
But with evac being so easy to use, and obtain, with miracles being insanely powerful when used right, titles really don't mean much.
As much as I dislike Darkor/Ajjantis he is damn good at one vs one fights (even though he picks classes that are more suited to these fights) and I feel he lacks some skill in group on group fights. But he is a good player, and at the end of the day, I can't deny that, even though I'll give him a lot of shit about not being good.
