I personally dont' remember them running around screaming "OMG l33t solo pvp'ers!" But if you have screenshots or forum post links, I'd be happy to giggle along with you.

Most people prefer a group to pvp with because a.) its more fun and b.) several classes together make a more effective pvp killing group.

Solo can be fun, but the game wasn't designed for it. Not all classes can solo effectively.
