Heal crits are over rated.

I didn't always think this. At one point in time I thought heal crits were greater than all. When I finally did decide to take the plunge and spec off STA for STR I was actually very worried my ability to heal would diminish noticeably. It, in fact, did not diminish at all. I found our ability to heal well is not dependent upon a huge heal crit, but more dependent on our ability to heal fast and stack lots of HOTs (SPAM HEALS FTW).

That being said, I will reiterate my original point.

Heal crits are over rated.

given the choice between the two, crits > +heal. when i'm looking at gear i'm more concerned with proc heal gear than +heals since the added heal bonus doesn't really impact our heals (since every blessed one is a hot of some sort) enough to notice. unless you stack a BUNCH of them, but then you're missing out on some other really great healproc gear :D

i spec'd str/agi, too, and i'm still outhealing the defiler and templar in the mt group on wuoshi, so all is right in my small little green world.

If you have to choose between the 3 (Crit, +Heal, Proc) I'd go
+ Heal
Crit
Proc

The Crits do help when they kick in when its getting nasty, but the +heal, especially since the changes adding them to the first tick, are more worth i think. (+130Heal ~ 30%, but +Heal is easier to get insanly high) The Procs are nice and I use em as well (specially group heal procs), but they just have to low numbers to compete with the +Heals which add on every single heal (except the procs, which is lame imho).

Crits heal more when they kick in, but less in average.

Are the +Healing added before or after the crit calculation?
