Default Any tips on getting ready to raid?

Hi! I'm getting near raid level and want to make sure I'm ready to start raiding. I'm looking for a list of things I should do to get my warden ready. I wasn't sure if I should put this here or move it to the noob section... but this is more warden specific so I hope it's in the right place

Specific things that I can think of with some EQ1 examples since I'm an EQ2 noob:
Are there certain items I should look for? (regen items, fishbone earring)
Are there access quests I need to complete? (like Vex Thal)
Are there other quests that I should do? (epic type quests)
What final combination of stats should I look for as a minimum? (255 wis, 100 resists)
If I am completely broke and can only upgrade one spell at a time, what order should I upgrade my spells to adept3/master?

Thanks for your help!

I would definately do Manastone HQ from Thundering Steppes. Stiletto only pops once a day now at 8am ( think that's PDT ) I think.. And Vessel of Fyr'Urn. The upgraded version isn't really needed but it helps a little. I would suggest making friends with someone who has a Carniverous plant and getting power roots before each raid. They're Lore so you only get one at a time, but the T7 ones restore around 22% of power. Much like the Overclocked Manastones from Tinkering. Fishbone earring isn't really needed since we have a group underwater breathing spell.

I'd definately say do DT access.. The item you get from doing it is very nice and will be hard to upgrade. This also requires you to do a few raids, which will get you into the feel of raiding.

Only real epic quests I can think of are Claymore and SoD, which by the time you finish RoK will be out so there's almost no point really. I would suggest however doing Mark of Awakening. It requires grouping mostly, but some can be solo'd, not to mention the last Trial is a raid that people enjoy doing occassionally, and the item is pretty damn sweet.

Stats.. Well.. Since SOE fucked us over on stats vs equipment, Wis is something you want more than anything HOWEVER as I said, we're fucked on equipment.. So you'll get Wis and Int whether you want it or not. If you go with melee spec, look for Str and procing gear. You'll most likely have to compete with Brawlers for Leather gear with Str on it.. But not all the time. Procs are the way to go for DPS. Procs and Crits. Planar Orb collection and Mystical Orb collections both have proc earrings which even hardcore raiders still use. Str/Agi Mastercrafted rings for melee spec, maybe. Unless you get a Signet From Light to Darkness out of OOB, then I'd just get an Agi ring, MAYBE a str ring still, just in case.

Spell wise, upgrade your group heals first in my opinion. Wardens are all about the group healing power, not to mention they heal more than the other spells. They take longer to cast but that's a nuke heal for you. I'd slowly go down the line til you can get your single target heals mastered. But with RoK so cose, you can get by with Adept III's since most of our spells will be replaced in a couple more weeks.

Not sure if I missed anything or not.. I'm sure others will add whatever I missed.. Hope that helps.

Hang out with a summoner and you don't need either!

I wasn't suggesting that we needed a fishbone earring, that was just an example from EQ1 of something that was nice to have for raids.

I haven't been able to read through it all since I'm running late for something, but when I get back I"m sure I'll have more questions for ya, thanks!

"Are there certain items I should look for?"

Get your manastone. Get your EoF collection quest jewelery to help your resists. Get gear drops from instances (wherever you can work on getting your EoF legendary set drops, you can also get another good one or two pieces of "starter" gear). We have a whole new tier coming out right away, so you might want to wait and see what happens there before devoting excessive time to getting specific pieces, but anything you get will still help you level up and learn.

"What final combination of stats should I look for as a minimum? (255 wis, 100 resists)"
Try to get to 6000 health and power. Resists are kind of a joke, but they should be higher than 3k without trying too hard. That will allow you from getting one shotted by AEs in starter raid zones like Labs.

If I am completely broke and can only upgrade one spell at a time, what order should I upgrade my spells to adept3/master?

Heals first. Those should all be AD3 before you go on your first raid as a minimum, even if it's just to go raid Labs. Get your ?level 53 Spirit of the Bat upgrade?, then buffs, then everything else. However, if you are rather broke, here's a tip.

Keep your eye on the broker for "cinder ore" collection pieces. Completing it will net you one rare, either a xegonite, moonstone, or acrylia. You can sell off any xegs and acrylias but keep the moonstones. If you check the broker over a period of time you can build up a stack of these to hand in on disposable alts for less cost than it would take to buy the rare you need. Use your shared bank to get them from your alt on newb island back to you. Often you can complete the collection for 20g or less, and it's rare that you can buy a moonstone for your AD3s for that cheap. It's not a secret but not many people will tell you that. You must have caught me on an off day. :D

Hi again! I have a few questions about what you two suggested...

DT is Deathtoll?

What is the Vessel of Fyr'Urn? I tried googling that one and all it brought up was this thread

Is there a way to tell which ones are EoF collection quests? I have a ton of collection quests partly done but I don't remember where I got the items from.

I found some info on the EoF legendary sets but I'm a bit confused. Are these single group encounters or raids that you get these from? If they are raids, do people pug these often? The reason I ask is because I'm guildless, raiding guilds don't want people under 70 obviously and the guilds that would want a non-70 aren't hardcore enough for me. I absolutely hate it when people join a guild just to gear up so I won't do that. However, I do have a regular group that should be able to do these if they are single group encounters.

Thanks for your help!

DT is Deathtoll, yes. But your main concern should be EoF Legendary which is acquired by instances like Mistmoore Castle, Mistmoore Catacombs, Kaladim's ring event, CoV, and OOB.

The Vessel of Fyr'Urn is a quest in Living Tombs in the Desert of Flames expansion. Not hard to do at 70 at all, as everything will be grey.

I would suggest going to eq2i.wikia.com and searching a few of these things. Class specific armor especially. The EoF Fabled set isn't something that every guild can acquire however, because these are raidzones and can be difficult if the guild isn't properly prepaired. Best bet however is to just wait and join a guild for RoK, since it will be out in a couple weeks and will replace a lot of equipment with it's raidzones.

Don't forget to have your potions. I personally use few times of potions: essence of power which is like another manastone, wisdom or strength potion and transcendence potion will take your power higher by 220 i think.

You can't google for The Vessel of Fyr'Urn because it's The Vessel of Fyr'Un 1-)

Also I'd suggest Tower of Four Winds timeline for nice ring with 5% recast, but finding pickup raid for Chel'Drak may be difficult.
