I went Karana for the same reason...the pet buff. I don't even really look at the blessings/miracles for a deity because they're just too damn limited. 1 shot abilities, that have next to no duration and I have to go back to my house in order to "refresh" it...what's the point. Especially when I have to sacrifice gear to get the ability rather than 'mute it.

Either people are that lazy and don't look up all the deity miracles/blessings on eq2wiki, or they just don't care... which as you stated is pretty sad. This goes for all classes too, for example...

My SK went with Bertoxx, and you wouldn't believe when I tell other SK's how good the Bertoxx miracles are, how many of them go, "yeah but the pet is only INT and no STR, and the cloak doesn't have any offensive effects".

I guess they don't want 50% increase in all disease-based spells for 10 minutes then, just to name one.

Another good example is when people don't change gods because they go from two stats to one with the new deity's pet puff... /slap.

People, when you get to 70-80 range, those extra stats can be made up for with the right gear (or adornaments for that matter). As for the cloaks, there are many new cloaks from drops or ones that can be made with the chromatic essences that are almost just as good (if not way better) than some of the deity cloaks. The cloak and buff should not be the biggest consideration for choosing your god once you hit 70-80 to be quite honest.

If you aren't using your miracles/blessings on the norm for tough named fights (especially on raids), then what is the point of having them at all? It's not that hard to get deity faction up to purchase more, so I am not really sure why people are slacking. It's like they want to save them for ever and never touch them. I wonder how many people even know what their diety's miracles/blessings really are.
