1. The main role of a warden in end-game raids is very minimal. The reason for this is because mobs melee the tank for very slow, large amounts. Due to this, wards rein supreme for nearly all end game content. Templars are very good because they bring a lot of utility, and can wear plenty of warding items (most of which is chain+ so warden can't even use).

2. Main role of a templar is a buff class primarily, healer secondary. Templar brings stoneskin, avoidance, hitpoints, and a magic/mental/divine group ward. Whereas wardens are not needed at all in raids, it would be very difficult to raid without a templar in the MT group.

3 Because of the above, templars are in extremely high demand, and wardens are in very low demand. Most high end raid guilds are usually recruiting a templar, there seems to be a big shortage of good dependable ones at the moment.

4. Haven't played wow enough to answer..

only problem about temps is that they are boring-ass to solo and level up better make inq and betray at 80 if you want to have a temp.

As far as the relation to a priest in WoW to an EQ2 healer, there really isn't a 100% equivalence. Priest in WoW got wards (power word shield), hots (renew), and direct heals....

I never personally played a priest, because I preferred the hybrid classes like paladin and shaman in WoW, but didn't they kind of just spam Power Word: Shield and then direct heal when necessary as well as keep renew on?

If so, one of the shaman classes would most likely fit the play style of a priest in WoW. Their primary source of healing comes from their wards, (Eq2 equivalent of power word:shield) and they throw in direct heals when necessary. Mystics also get a health over time spell, although, it does make the target lose some attack speed while it is on them.

If you want a fun class I would say go Fury, you get good heals, good DPS and buffs that the raid force can use. I have a warden and I love playing him...but lack the power of our counter parts...We are bar none the best "healing" class in the game but due to our lack of respect we get shoved to the side.

I believe that a warden can work just as well in a raid. Hell Phay was the top warden until he betrayed. So that should tell you something.

Who is phay? just one of the best wardens in the game. Half of these forums are made up of his lore. If you want good information just query him.

In my opinion Mystic is the best healer for both heals/dps for an end game healer. I have not seen any other class that can post 5k dps, which a Mystic can do on a regular basis. Their heals and wards are just as big if not bigger than any templer/Ing/fury/Warden/Shaman.

Check each out and see which one feels the best and then role with it. Good luck and have fun.
