Default Kind of Amusing

Found this kind of amusing...sort of. This guy was running around Orgrimmar (WoW - Horde side if you've never set foot there..)

The Orange tag means it's the equivalent of Mythical:

and here's the best part (lol) ...this is what it looks like:

I was kind of amused. Thought I'd pass it on. The designers there clearly don't have any problem deciding how to handle the placement issue - just make it so freaking big it covers the entire toon.

Hm. Maybe Azzinoth is a Wolf?
(he's not..just saying..)

copy from WoW, hang on, do you mean how they've placed the sword, or the sword itself?
'cus as far as the sword itself, i really doubt SoE coppied that. For placement? All they did was change it to act like a 2 hander and go on the back, right? Nothing to do with copying WoW there, it's just like, the only other posistion available for a weapon in EQ2.

Since when did WoW become the font of all changes to be copied anyway?

Naw, it wasn't either I was commenting about - just how 'cute' it is to see our Mythical in WoW format.

Not saying anyone ripped anyone off - unless you count both ripping off Star Trek (LOL)...just was sort of fascinated by how this looked in another environment, and thought all y'all would like to see it too .

..and I'm easily amused

I cancelled my EQ2 account ..will be done on the 22nd..and am kind of rattling around reconnecting with old friends in other places.

the TWIN blades of azziwhoever...

so ultimately ur aiming to carry TWO of those monstrosities aboot. you'll just look like walking blades (with some funky particle effects, sure).

im gonna stop complaining about the placement of ours now. at least we dont have THAT thing. poor wow players...

Hehe sorry Ariel, my comment wasn't aimed at you at all :D I think the weapon looks... absurd, completely absurd. And like Jambox said, two of those mothers?
I would hate to be facing an opponent who can actually use two massive weapons bigger than themselves.

LOL thanks Neb

The funniest thing about the art in WoW: The bigger and sparklier the weapon, the better quality and more stats. So if you see someone riding around that looks like a christmas tree, then they are an end-game raider (the sparklier, the harder the content they are raiding) or a hardcore pvp'er.

This is a practice that EQ2 is doing more and more...and I'm not sure I like it..mostly cause pretty soon your items all end up looking like the picture.

things arent getting ridiculously sized yet in eq2 at least. Sure, the better stuff particularly Fabled+ has 'sparkly' bits or flames or movement etc etc. but as long as its still a sensible size i have no problem.

i love particle effects xD make me feel speshul and all glowy inside...

Well....our fabled/mythical. Biggest item we own.

(No comment from the peanut gallery, I know what you are going to say).

can a member of the floor say it then? just curious ya know. I do like the mythical, the tentacles aren't too bad, but i can't say they add anything good to the weapon, and i'd prefer if the green glow effect wasn't there, the only thing i feel it adds is the whole, this is mythical, not fabled, feel.

Particle effects are nice, but they draw attention away from the detail on the armour, which probably means lazy artists.

on a side note, are you likely to reactivate your account some time in the future Ariel? Community can't afford to lose decent wardens
