Yes I know, I was just asking how you'd rank the two... but I do agree they are very much similar. It more or less comes down to if you want to have DA on your weapon or crits... also the staff has one advantage over the Mallet that it can be adorned.

I had Apply Poisons from the Assassin (I traded him Instinct for it) and I had Upbeat Tempo from the Troubador. Our Inqusitor was wearing their TSO 4 set so I had Inquisitor DPS buff as well.

This is my best zonewide yet. My high parse for the night was something like 8.3k

Yet another Parse (the trash up but without first named), this time a nuke based (sorry for it being in german).

My group setup was:
-SK
-Inqui
-Dirge
-Illu
-Ranger
-myself

AA-wise i had skilled the following (concernig dps):

• casting expertise (tso)
• chilling winds (tso)
• infusion (druid int line)
• Force of Nature (75% melee crit, warden tree)

Further remarks:

• Had been wearing both wrist item from ferzuhl with gvb on it. And they really procced as hell. I have been meleeing all the time and about half of the gvb procs came from it.
• neither time compression, tandem, elemental mastery (AA from TSO tree) or DA skilled; so still some potential for more.
• had been using choker and mostly clickie from ring of rage

Shows that a nuke based setup is still a viable way, though i agree that melee likely has more potential.

Hmmmm nuke spec.....

Viable option? Yes.
Smart choice? No.

Nuke spec can never parse anywhere close to what melee spec will parse. There simply is no comparison. Even in a predominantly caster based group set a melee spec will still outparse nuke spec. Not only that, but melee spec also allows you to do far more DPS WHILE healing. I just stand there with autoattack on and get off a crap ton of free DPS between heals, while nuke spec you have to stop healing completely to cast a nuke for DPS. We clear the zone all the way to Mynzak and I stilled pulled off 4.5k zonewide even with all the names and that dumb trash stretch after Tythus that knockback. Nuking priests cant get anywhere close to the kind of DPS potential that we have while still having to heal.

If we do palace tonight I'll get a parse of my zone wide, though my group setup normally is not anything spectacular for good dps.

Thought I would post my ZW, not as good as some posted previously but I only switched back to Warden as my main 4 weeks ago and still have plenty of aa to grind and gear to work on.

My Group was Guardian, Defiler, Templar, Coercer, Dirge and Me. I had the DPS buff from Coercer, I might try and sweet talk the dirge to give me BC next time too

I was using the Thex Mallet reward from the Book of Thex HQ.

We had quite a few people going linkdead or zoning in late, have others notice that when this happens the whole zone hangs for a second? Not sure if it is happening in general or because it was a Sunday raid and almost every guild on the server raids too making it lag city.

Anyways, here is my breakdown:

Its that time again everybody. Some time has passed. Im sure we all have some better gear now and were all a little more adjusted to the new AAs and melee play style, so lets see em Wardens. DPS Parses.

Include your group make up with each parse and any special single target buffs you may have so we can all use them for comparative purposes.

Also, dont be afraid to post a parse even if you think its low. I just want to see a good cross section of what we're all doing and in what kinds of gear and groups.

To get the ball rolling, here are some parses of mine from tonight.

This is Palace of the Ancient One first floor trash and first name (the paired named). My group was me (warden), dirge, troubador, illusionist, wizard, and assassin. I had a sick group so I whored set bonus enhanced instinct for myself.

Hehe, Trakanon 2.0 indeed... damageshields for the win! Stack up on those Fish Reductiions, the Spark potion and your health charm and you'll see numbers flying...

Our second Anashti kill, so didnt really try to dps much, but shows how easy it can be to get some dps in on her with a few damage shields.


Going to have to try and go in with a dps spec / gear on Anashti and see if I cant get my parse a bit higher, hehe.

And I havent dps'ed the first floor of Palace in a while, I tend to sit during that to allow more dps in.
