Default Palace of the Ancient one, trash parse

Now that TSO is here in full why dont we start a new DPS thread. The yellow trashmobs at the start of Palace seam like a good spot to dps on.

I'll get us started:

This is everything in Palace of the Ancient one up to the Switchmaster. I included that first name / pair of names in the merge because they are easy to dps on also.

I had an Inquisitor, Dirge, and Troub in my group and was in full dps gear and dps stance the entire time.

I was in the MT group, with the coercer dps mod on me. Full dps AA's, rather meh dps gear. I do belive with some good dps gear and some tweaking we can easily get 6k dps on these mobs.

What weapon did you use Larry?

The Avatar bo from RoK avatars.

And we CAN Get 6k on these mobs. My high parses are in the 6.5-6.9k range (I still have yet to break 7k). My zonewides are just a little lower cause of some dumb luck encounters (misses, resists, non crits, no procs etc).

Youre right though with some of the gear out there (like that HOT avatar gi) we will be seeing 6k zonewides eventually and high parses of 7-8k.

Damn! You guys are impressive. Here I got all excited when my legendary heroic Warden hit 900 dps the other day. Guess I'll have to work on my gear and aa some more. You guys using a melee or caster or hybrid spec?

I assume Larry is using str+int lines and melee line from eof+ full melee stance and increase dmg on all possible dmg skills from tso tree.. using 4sec delay 2h probably so it's hitting hard and proccing the cold dmg every hit. Keep in mind though he got overpowered gear so it's more like "how warden can parse when got uber gear" but definitely i can see wardens with lesser gear do 4-5k with the new aa's +shard gear even.

Melee spec is the way to go now in TSO, if you look at the new aa's we get. Almost everything damage wise is based on melee. However I used a str & int spec, with melee in warden and all the dps type skills in the TSO aa's.

I used the staff from VP. With a dirge in group I had 97% DA, 104% crits.

Default Re: Palace of the Ancient one, trash parse

You guys are pretty much spot on with my spec.

I am Str / Agi / Int
Str 4 4 8 8
Agi 4 4 4 8
Int 4 4 8 6 1

I am full Movement, Renewal, and Wardens minus the 3 points for the Snare AA in movement and the 4 points for the Spores AA in Renewal.

The major dps blocks from TSO Shadows tree I took were Litany of Combat (Priest), Bladed Expertise (Druid), Glacial Assault (Warden). I have yet to put any AA into Elemental Mastery or Chilling Winds so there is still room for more damage on combat arts via AAs.

I use a mixture of melee / caster gear. The thing is in this expansion it is so very very easy for us to hit double attack / melee crit caps with minimal gear. Once you reach the caps on those we are left with Str, +CA damage, DPS, and attack speed as the only things we can really get on gear for more damage and all of those things are easily buffed with the right group.

I moved my gear selection towards a more spell crit / base spell damage direction after I get to 100% crit 100% double attack in raids. Spell crit is still very big for our damage even as a melee warden. Look at my damage break down for instance. My 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th source of outgoing damage are all spell based damage. 30-40% or so or my outgoing damage is all spell based and mods like base spell damage and spell crit are highly beneficial to those forms of damage.

In raids now adays I sit at like 105% melee crit, 110% double attack, 75% spell crit, 200ish haste, and 100ish dps (sometimes higher depending on my group or how many procs I have up).

And to respond to whoever said I have 'uber gear'... I really only have a couple pieces that are qualify as 'uber' and they do not make up THAT much of my dps. The only uber piece I have that really contributes to my dps is my weapon. Sure my 2hander is sick, but the HQ Thex Mallet is ALMOST as good as the avatar 2h I use. The weapons are pretty close in their spread and have an identical delay.

All my other gear is legendery or fable drop from heroic instances that can be obtained by everybody. Theres a lot of sick warden useable legendery melee gear in TSO. The numbers I am putting up are numbers we ALL could be doing easily given the AA and group / raid make.

Slightly better zonewide last night. Inq / Troub / Illy in my group.
Same gear / AA setup
