Icon14 a bunch of newb questions

I'm returning to the game (played a sorceror years ago, only up to level 20 or so), and I've decided to play a warden. I played a druid in EQ for years and I really had a lot of fun with it.

Anyway my primary goal is to be a raid/group healer, and I've found some great resources on here for AA distribution for that, but what should I level with? I'd like to be able to solo reasonably well, and still be able to heal a group whenever I can get into a group.

A few other random questions:

What level does solo play stop being viable?

What stats do you look for on gear for soloing?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Heh, i do not want to feed you false facts but imo:
you can level the entire game solo, but i am sure there are going to be times you may want to get a group... in addition to that you will want to get a group to pick up some of the AA from the names, disco, etc in the group instances.
for aa spec i highly recommend going melee for leveling up, and well for just about everything.. you will want to get gear to complement that too so the brawler MC/handcrafted gear is nice for that... look for STR/STA/AGI on the gear...
I personally did not worry too much about my power pool while soloing for most things if you are melee will die pretty quickly and you get a buff that will add wisdom and power...
be sure to use a 2hander weapon, it helps a bunch ..

for healing... you may want to pick up a different set of crafted armour.. but if you are going to solo all the way to 80 you could just stick with the STR/STA/AGI armour. when you get to about 70-80 the kunark quest series lines will get you pretty good healing items so I would take some of those. as well as if you plan to do some of the TSO instances there is some pretty nice healing gear in there.
I personally from 70-80 had two sets of mastercrafted armour (one for dps and one for heals) and as i would see drops from instances or solo would slowly replace each piece.

have fun and best of luck !

thanks for the response, leveled from 10-15 yesterday, and started filling in the STR aa's, as they seem the most melee centric. What other section of the tree would you do next? I'm sure I'm getting ahead of myself

Forget STR line AAs for now. STR line is the 2nd part to building a melee build.

Make a B line for Force of Nature in the Warden tree. Our melee AAs are complete and utter junk until we have the melee crit to support the build so get 21 AA and snag the 75% crit and then you will be able to start to build your melee play set and AAs.
