New to eq2 and Wardens...
Hello everyone. I am a recent convert from that “other game” and believe I have found a new home with eq2. I have rolled a wood elf warden on Crushbone, and have a few questions.
1. Could anyone recommend a good website to find character and end-game information? I have tried the wiki, but found the site a little difficult to find information.
2. Second, as a warden what stats should I concentrate on? From what I have been able to find out, agility AA tree, but do I still try to stack wis on items, or go agility there also?
3. There are so many choices for trade skills, I am a little overwhelmed. I have read that alchemy is needed by every other trade crafter, but also that sages are a good match to casters. Since this is my first character, what do you recommend to keep me from being broke later on in the game?
4. Any other information or website that you can let a noob know about would be very much appreciated. I do like to try to min/max, but my overall goal is to have fun.
Thanks in advance!

Re: New to eq2 and Wardens...
you could just try reading before you post, stickied at the top of this section is:
http://www.eq2flames.com/wardens/466...e-wardens.html
and all the info you want is almost guaranteed to be somewhere in these forums; just read
however if you refuse to read: your post should prolly go in the noob section of the forum, as these are very general-ly answerable question (and they don't really pertain to wardens at all)

Re: New to eq2 and Wardens...
Thank you for your reply. I tried to list the information regarding my questions that I did find with each. I am looking for a little more. I have also noticed that a lot of information is outdated, and with TSO out was not sure how much had changed.
I also started out with a question asking for a good website I could go to read up on this. I have read most of the stickies, and was still a little confused.
Sorry to have "bothered" you by posting. You were not very helpful, and hope that others may be. Thanks again.

This site and eq2.wikia.com, although like any game site it'll make more sense once you have more of a grasp on the game. Run when you can walk
2. Second, as a warden what stats should I concentrate on? From what I have been able to find out, agility AA tree, but do I still try to stack wis on items, or go agility there also?
Wisdom, and stamina. The agility tree will provide some nice 'Achievement' skills but agility isn't really a critical stat at any stage of the game. Don't turn down gear because of agility - avoidance is nice for group content - but WIS and STA are the stats to stack.
3. There are so many choices for trade skills, I am a little overwhelmed. I have read that alchemy is needed by every other trade crafter, but also that sages are a good match to casters. Since this is my first character, what do you recommend to keep me from being broke later on in the game?
Tradeskilling isn't regarded as essential by most high end players, though almost all have maxed at least one tradeskill as some quests require this. It is worth doing though. Sage might be a good choice if you don't already know one, as a source of (relatively) cheap spell upgrades.
4. Any other information or website that you can let a noob know about would be very much appreciated. I do like to try to min/max, but my overall goal is to have fun.
Just read this forum well. Just about everything you could need to know about the high end is here. Some will be relevant to mid/low level too. You are a defensively-oriented healer with huge healing output potential. Play the game to learn your role, and what you're capable of. Experience > all

Re: New to eq2 and Wardens...
Thanks woody, your info really helped out a bit. I guess I was spoiled with all the abundant info that I was used before. I have a lot of time at work and try to read up on things, and I must admit, there is quite a bit going on to this game.
Thanks again for your info.

Re: New to eq2 and Wardens...
Dagar don't be put off by those who respond unfavorably. Just seems to be a lot of peeps who don't like to do their home work and want an easy button. Gets old after a while.
As Nyquist stated, the stickied threads are pretty spot on when it comes to game mechanics, what stats to focus on, and AA builds. Mr. WC-L can be wordy at times, but has contributed a SHIT load of info on this site. It might be a wall of text, but it is well worth the read.
This site (for warden's) will probably be your best source of information for end game info. It might not be all in one thread, but it is here.
For tradeskill info, EQ2 Traders Corner is a good site for information. Alchemy is a great TS for making some $$ and utility. Sage not so much.

Ya, I didn't mean to sound like a total asshat...But I just hate repeating info that is literally on this site 5 times or more
and I reiterate: read the stickies, if you don't get it the first time, read it again
http://www.eq2flames.com/wardens/466...e-wardens.html
Is full of ALL kinds of infos
This has AA info
http://www.eq2flames.com/wardens/320...lp-please.html
This has gear info (and is VERY good at explaining it all)
http://www.eq2flames.com/wardens/374...what-best.html
They have lots and lots of text, but that shouldn't discourage you, its a plethora of knowledge waiting for you

Re: New to eq2 and Wardens...
Thanks all, I really appreciate the help. I have a lot of "homework" to do on this, and can understand getting frustrated having to constantly repeat yourself. I am still reading all the info on these pages, but feel the need to consantly look at the post date, as some were quite old. Oh well, by the time I get to the last pages, if any info is incorrect, it will hopefully have been changed.
Thanks again all!

Re: New to eq2 and Wardens...
There are only a few 'add ons', mostly UI mods - there isn't really any talent build generator, and no real cookie-cutter spec that you have to have or you can forget it, and we are a lot less gear dependant than any character you might have on 'the other game'.
We don't have tons of websites that discuss endgame in this game so much because so much of your ability to play when you get there comes from..well..getting there.
The threads Nyquist mention are good ones though - there is a nice compendium of what information we do have on this site. It's mostly straightforward, honest, and lacks any pandering to Devs that the official forums might have....which is what we love about this site ::grin::
welcome to the game!

Re: New to eq2 and Wardens...
Thanks, I have read all the stickies sans the wall of text from WC-Larry. Reading most seamed that it was all geared towards end-games wardens, which I am not. I am assuming that it is a feel your way around situation till I get higher level, which is ok. I know enough to hopefully not get waxed after the newbie zone. I appreciate everyones help, and thank you. Hope to run in to some of you guys eventually
