What are you researching first?

I've been out of town for work this week so I've not had a chance to see what's what yet. After seeing the training times and such, what spells are you folks researching?

Since I'm on a Euro server and SOE suck donkey balls, we don't have the update and won't for a week or so.

I'll probably go with Spirit of the Bat since it's the highest level Master I don't have, then work back to level 1 to get every spell at master/gm.

And you know what else? call me suspicious but any time a feature goes into the game and there's a ton of 'what are you going to do' or 'how do you like it' posts on several forums, I kind of don't think it's regular players that are just curious.

Especially on these forums.

Apologize in advance if I'm wrong, but sneaking around finding out free marketing information for SoE (or who/tf/ever) is kind of sucky.

This is were I posted the same question on the SOE forums.. Name of my Warden, guild and the date I started playing are there for your viewing pleasure

I'll present my case..

First, Has SOE retained ANY employees since launch?

Second, You mentioned "marketing information" Hahah.. EQ2 doesn't have a marketing division. EQ2 is the worst marketed MMO in history! Hell, people are hard pressed to find an actual hard copy of the game in stores! And the thought of SOE actually using any information gained from people who actually play the game like the people on this site.. wow, I'd faint..

Third, I don't see how any of my old posts would point to me being a SOE employee. (see edit below)

Fourth, I'm lvl 75 and just stared playing this toon again. We all know the chodes over at SOE don't level any toons over lvl 10 for any actual research reasons.

Anywho, feel free to research my old posts on the SOE site as well, I think if you look at the criticism that is apparent in my old posts in the Warden forums in regards to the roles of raiding Wardens pre-RoK I think you'll see that I'm obviously not an employee of SOE.

Like I said, I've not been able to log in all week due to working out of town and didn't know if there were any quickly trained spells that people were taking first due to time trained and what not. There is actually a thread in the Mystic forums on this very site talking about researching priority and people are in agreement about a certain spell being trained first due to it only taking a week. I guess I was just trying to start some discussion of a similiar nature in the Warden forums.

Edit: Ok, I went back to my old posts and saw the one where I asked who was preordering RoK ROFL.. ok you got me on that one damn you! But I still stand by my position! I'm not the enemy!

Why would SOE make a post like this "for marketing reasons". They can see very easily what people are researching from their end and can also see what people are likely to research based on which spells are the rarest/most expensive.

Back on topic... As my warden is only a level 71 alt, I guess I'll go for my heals 1st, the 71-74 ones then the higher ones, then some buffs like spores.

I am mostly mastered, and nothing really stood out as a priority to get. Winds of Permafrost? Heh...

So I started out with getting Umbral Trap for my alt... like most other shamans I guess. It's a very useful spell and has been (and still is, presumably) virtually impossible to get as a master drop. It's level 35 (no higher level upgrades) and everyone would have had it in adept 3 already, so that only takes a week.

If I didn't have all my heals mastered I'd probably take one of the good ones there, like Photosynthesis.

P.S. If I were going to research one, I'd research Grand Florescence. I was all mastered except that one for maybe 4 months. Never saw it drop in any form either, and got most of my masters in drops. That was the one elusive one.

No worries. I just stopped raiding/playing on my Warden when I got frustrated pre-RoK and changed to Coercer and Brig. Now I'm giving him another go and none of my T8 stuff is Master so I didn't know if there was any particular order people were training their spells due to things like, How long it takes, rarity, that type of thing.
