oh I love teaching heal mechanics 101 to arrogant defilers who just think they are simply that amazing.
It ain't hard to understand, it isn't rocket science afterall... but it amazes me that their supposed uberness comes hand in hand with just being dumb.

I may have to admit I said some stuff about HoTs way back on the eq2players forums. So strangely I feel they kinda heard that. TBH though the saved heal was an option I had mentioned but I feel also that the HoT should immediately heal a partial amount (added in after a reactive) in relation to how far along the current tick had carried.

Say a tick woulda landed but wasn't needed then 1 sec later the target is damaged it would immediately half (or some decaying value from the time the previous tick landed) the amount then .5 secs later when the next tick was due the full tick would land as normal.

If I'm reading some of those proposed changes correctly HoTs can potentially be downright insane heals but unless the next xpac is gonna have such wicked AEs that would require that kind of healing. Which I don't see happening. Then there really isn't much noticable gain.

I thought this was rather unusual and a little funny the other day. I actually saw a WoE raid advertise in channel for a warden specifically.

The next xpac is gonna have quite a few big changes to group setups (like summoners getting the magical debuffs from Brigs for example) Gonna have a wait and see approach to this one. cuz I smell some kinda nerf at some point.

Hey, what about adding 2 short term wards for nox and arcane (like Ward of the Untamed). Then a Warden could fend off alot of AE damage if he timed it right. Would be a good raiding AA choice. If Furys have better offensive buffs then maybe a few defensive tricks would make Wardens better for raids. I'm sure the scouts would love it if instead of jousting out, they could get a 15s ward just before the big AE hit. Of course it would take a saavy Warden to handle heal/cures and time his wards all at the same time.

For group instance healing - well with good gear and enough AA the Hots are ok now as is -IF- the tank can take a hit. So really alot is also going to depend on the Tank changes in the new expansion.

I think the biggest problem we overcome on a daily raid basis is not that we have trouble healing, but that so much of our heals are 'stuck' behind some other kind of healer's specialty.

WoE would advertise for a Warden specifically because if you are raiding sufficiently to gear everyone up, you aren't raiding WoE, and you need the crit mit buff. Even I admit that's a nice buff for awhile - but a bone they threw us to shut us up, mostly.

Same schtuff, different expansion, though Good for a large population of Wardens, but not good for raiders.

I'm taking a wait and see attitude to it, not wringing my hands just yet. I don't know if we have enough info to do that, or if we just do it out of experience (lol)

It's funny - you see so much complaint from the 'normal' playing population that everything favors raiders, and raiders (like some of us) see it exactly opposite.

I tend to see WoE raids advertising for Wardens occasionally on my server. Pretty much all of the WoE raids that I've been in run with 3 healers. Cleric and shammy for MT group, druid for DPS group (occasionally with me in the MT group and the cleric/shammy in the DPS group if they can't keep up on the heals).

Wardens are especially nice for spam healing on the books fight.
