Default Fan Faire: HoTs getting buffed

In the mechanics panel from Fan Faire, they announced that they are basically buffing HoTs to be WAY more useful. Not that they aren't now, but since they are behind wards and reactives they will now have a unique mechanic.

Any healing NOT applied in the initial hit or on any given tick (ie because the target doesnt have that much of a deficit of HP) will roll over to the next tick. Meaning that near the end say Photosynthesis VII could heal for 10k+ because of saved up healing.

But wait, theres more! If you order now, we'll throw in a group AE heal at the termination of the hoT using whatever saved up heal is left. Meaning that if your main target has 10k left of HoT healing saved up when it expires, it will look through your group and heal group members for up to a total of 10k (ie 2 members for 5k or 5 for 2k).

Mmm. Anti-nerf.

They'll also probably be taking the stun off of Hierophantic Genesis, making it actually useful more than once a blue moon. They might also take it off Tortoise Shell, if they do there will be some penalty to something on it though (maybe reduced healing effectiveness, who knows).

Bring on the win.

Not something to get too excited about TBH.

Nothing will ever change the fact that in this game

Wards > Direct Heals
Debuffs > No Debuff

Just popped over from the fury section to see what wardens are thinking about HoT changes. Have to say that I agree, if its implemented as is suggested it wont be that exciting. Don't get be wrong, any buff is nice atm, but having to wait until the end of a HoT for another direct heal isn't going to save your group from being AoE one-shotted. On its own It seems a bit "meh", I don't think it'll make raid leaders any more likely to invite a druid to raid.

The new mechanic will just simply reinforce our support healer classification. We will still be a reactive healer (HoT) instead of a proactive healer (Ward, Reactive).
Another question I would ask is if it does not heal and rolls to the next heal, will first tick proc (Infusion and Myth) even though it does not heal? If not, then it could seriously limit our mana regen and dps.

I'm with Larry on this one: There's really nothing wrong with our ability to heal - I think we do that just fine within the limits of (as he says) Wards/Reactives > Direct Heals.

FFS why can't we get some decent buffs or Debuffs? Who TF are they listening to when they change stuff for us?

ARGH.

Sorry, I guess I should put the <sarcasm> tags in my post next time ;) Well, the line about Hierophantic isnt that sarcastic... it does kinda suck now, so taking the stun off would make me actually use it more than once a blue moon.

The fact that our heals are still behind the wards and reactives AND the fact that we have basically no debuffs (unless you count the little elemental one on the DoT) is exactly the point -- giving us even more healing when we're only using a tiny percentage of it already isn't going to help that much.

re: CriticalOvrLoad, nothing should change there. Those proc when you finish casting the spell, not when it actually heals for anything more than 0.

LOL sorry Barx, I really did read that you were delighted with the new HoT changes and I was thinking you probably sort of just lost your mind.

Thanks for the clarification LOL. You do need /sarcasm next time!
