I have been level 80 for more than a month and have been in instances and a few raids.
I imagine, like me, that other Wardens have dps gear and healing gear setups (in addition to resist gear). I see dps stuff drop but feel uncomfortable rolling on it. I greed it and hope. Am I the only one who is uncomfortable 'needing' dps loot?

I'd say if your main spec is a DPS one, roll on the stuff with no shame. Since it's counter-intuitive to most groups for a healer to be doing that - let the group know when it starts that A) you are DPS spec, that's how you roll 99 percent of the time and B) you're going to be rolling on DPS items.

That gives them a chance to negotiate or at least not be blown away when/if you do.

If your main spec is a nuke/heal one and you HAVE a DPS spec that you'd eventually like gear for, I'd say it's just the nice thing to do to let someone roll on DPS stuff that needs it, and you can get your DPS stuff as it comes to you.

You might be surprised at how many good things come to you this way, and you will not leave anyone pissed off.

If you are raiding in PuRs, you DEFINITELY need to explain that you are there to get either set gear or DPS gear for your spec, and stick to it. Let them know you have as much right to roll on DPS stuff as any other DPS'er.

Just know that when you do this, you really can't have it both ways - you can't insist a mostly heal item is good for you then turn around and bid on an uber DPS item too. One or the other, or you will have issues, IMO.

make sure you ask before you roll on an item you'd like.

if none of the DPS want it, roll need for sure, otherwise just greed it, as they are the priority DPSers (unless of course you were invited to the group as DPS not heals)

Evaluate your DPSers. If they are good and will actually benefit from the gear, I let it go. If they just suck then I dont care. I will take loot from them and then flaunt in their face how I, a healer, am doing more dps than them while healing the tank.

IMO its all about the effectiveness of a piece of gear on the player it ends up on. Id take a sweet caster piece over some retarded scrub Wizard any day

I only bid on raid DPS gear when all DPSer's in guild have that item, it doesn't normally take long to get my hands on some nice gear altho I am still waiting for the belt off the Naga!!!!!! damn them DPSers
