Default warden's melee

i saw a thread that was about this subject but i wanted to ask some more questions i did not see or was to lazy to read.

1. if i do go melee how do i want to gear up? jewelery and armor
2. how do i do my aa's to make them fit and work well with the melee?
3. and how do i go melee without my heals going to crap?

ive heard some different ideas like go leather armor for str sta agi and then go wis and int jewelery but wasnt sure if that would be effective.

AAs...

Go down STA line but only max out crit heals and nothing else, on the druid tree thats about the only thing that benefits healing.

On the warden tree go for Spores max, Spirit of the bat max, and revive max, maybe go for tree recast if you don't raid.(Wild Regeneration is ok...it just makes your group and single target over time spells tick .5 faster then normal...it can be useful but at times it can really just over heal...)

Gear is kinda easy, if you are having a really hard time getting things to drop then just start having a jewler make acrylia stuff or using adornments for STR and DPS/HASTE mod items.

Obviously the person that replied to you plays on the carebear server. We both know why you want to go down the melee line! To whoop some ass as a warden!

At first in the druid line, I went down the Str line to make myself fully melee spec'd. And that worked for a while. But after talking to a few other wardens. I realise, that even though that 40% chance to double attack looks very attractive.. You're better of going down the sta line!

I realise this is the same as the carebear said, but I did it for a completely different reason. The 30 sec immunity to stuns spell. Trust me, that will really help you out in pvp!

But face it, your melee attacks won't nearly do as much dmg as your casting spells. Which is why I only tend to use my melee attacks when I have to chase after people. As long as you can keep them rooted, keep using your casting spells. They'll do a lot more dmg!

Aside from the melee line, I also went down the EoF line that gives me immunity to roots and most knockbacks (you'll want this for pvp). And it really pimps out those already overpowered warden roots! Yay

As for gear, try to get your pvp stuff sorted. My favorite tunic at the moment is the old Windriders Tunic from the QH pvp vendor because it has a de-agro clickie. But I also love the Jale Phlintoe or whatever the name is, tunic! For pvp the crown of enlightenment from SoS is very useful (the proc is delicious)! And the pants that fear from OOB! <3 my belt from Valdoons and Unrest... That is if you're @ T7...

Well, I hope my little rant has kind of helped you out!

Nah I wasnt being clear enough. I hadn't explained well enough that what I ment was - Once you get all the melee AAs maxed out then going with the other choices i mentioned are the only ways to buff your healing so that your not gimped as a healer.

Default Re: warden's melee

Well, I'd say one thing. To make become a melee warden it takes a lot of AAs. It's all about the AA lines.

The only AA line that makes us be a better healer is the stamina melee crit AA. The rest of the KoS and EoF AAs aren't that good. There are some advantages and some AAs can be useful in certain situations (anti-aoe and death saves) but for the most part they aren't necessary. This is where the freedom to dump all your points into melee abilities comes from.

So if you're going to be a melee warden what you need to do is first max heal crits. After that go down the str line to and max double attacks. The double attack AA works with a 2 hander which is nice.

Then go down the EoF AAs. Go straight for 75% melee crit. After that I'd say max out the melee attacks except for our dot. The dot is better as a spell because of the duration and debuff amount if you have the master so stick with the spell variant.

The way to pump out the most dps with gear is getting a good 2 hander, a sword and lots of str gear. We have the disadvantage of having no str buffs so our standard str is very low. This is HUGE in how it affects our dps. Str affects the damage of your CAs as well as your autoattack so your gear should be str > wis when you choose gear imo especially if you aren't raiding. I don't remember the last time I ran out of power grouping and just put sotb on yourself for grouping. So once your at cap go for str and dps mod adornments with a good haste item too.

Next is how to play to max dps. You need to time the CAs and spells inbetween autoattacks for max dps. This is important. Then make a macro to equip a sword, use our str line haste AA, then reequip your 2 hander. In this way you can get the haste from the sword AA but still fight with a 2 hander.

Think that's it... not really much more to it I think.

Take str + agility in KoS tree. And take crits in EoF tree. And of course, you should find some items, high delay weapon, which give you some str and procs...
