Icon14 Overwhelmed

After not playing much at all for about a year, I find that my level 80 warden is even more useless than....well....a warden. Prior to severely curtailing my play time, she was in a raiding guild and fully mastered with very nice T-7 fabled gear. Guild fell apart (imagine that), real life got pretty interesting about the same time and I all but quit playing, let alone raiding. I have played enough to level her up to 80 but she only has 140-something AA's and now wears a mixture of T-8 master crafted gear and some of the T-7 fabled - all of it geared to soloing only - and has no T-8 masters.

I'm getting back into the game with winter coming on and honestly am a bit overwhelmed with all of the choices and what direction I should take her. I love my warden and am not interested in giving up on making her the best she can be with the time I have to play. What is the best thing to go for first? I still solo alot so need to have gear for that, I'm a pretty decent healer (skill-wise) so I need to have gear for that, and what about the 'overloaded' heal proc stuff...is that a good thing to look for in gear? Do I focus on a purely healing role for her for now until I get better gear?

Somehow, I need to get her geared up sufficiently to get decent groups so that I can start to get some better gear so that I can get better groups so that I can get better gear, yada yada yada, but I'm just not sure where to start.....

any advice would be appreciated. Except for the "betray to Fury" suggestions. Not gonna....nonono!

Check out my stickied threads up at the top. They are still very up to date and relevant.

There is one post on AA and a seperate post on gear selection. It takes you through all the various options and stats you would want or need to consider in either a dps or a heal set up.

Once you have thoroughly read both threads, if you still have questions then come back here and I'll be glad to help, but most of what you seek to know is contained in the threads stickied in this forum.

Concur. Larry might be long winded, but knows his shit. Lays everything out and makes it understandable.

I don't mind him being long winded or thorough. He has given us wardens a wealth of information. Just saying it might appear to be a wall of text, but it pays to read it all.

Also consider that we are not very far from the next expansion. I've also been in the guilds falling apart/burned out Healer mode for awhile.

I've been extremely happy over the last month or so just noodling around on my healers (Warden included) making sure that they are all at 80 with 200 AA and a nice stack of shards in preparation for the next expansion.

I find not stressing over getting T4 gear pieces when guilds keep falling apart..in part cause healers are sick and tired of TSO raiding...and considering that none of the gear I might or might not get right now is going to matter in a few months.

When I stopped stressing over this, I'm liking it more If T9 is more of the same, that'll be it for me, sad to say. I've put up with so much over the years, but it wears ya down. When it's not fun and you can't make it fun..time to go.

That said, I join with the rest of the posters in recommending Larry's posts. He's min/maxed Warden in pretty much every possible situation you can be in. If you can be spec'd for min/max everything else you will do will be easy.

Definitely start putting in for the 'easier' zones Deep Forge, etc to start building up shards. Wardens of all the healers have it a little easier with not being so gear dependant, but even so some of the harder zones are going to be tough on you till you get some of your gear.

It doesn't take very long at all to build up enough shards for a set of T2 gear. Work on getting your fabled weapon (can't remember if you said you had your mythical or not) at least.

And definitely start hitting up the researcher for some of your more important masters.

I might be dragging my own sense of burnout into interpretation of those looking for group, but it seems most people LFG want you to be all equipped so that they can do the zones in the minimum time possible. That's not to say that you won't be able to find a group or two that will be willing to help you out.

Don't worry about overloaded healing if you are just going to be grouping. If you can get an item with it, fine, if not..meh. It's not the incredible proc it once was. Like everything else, it's had it's bite removed

Thanks for the responses. I have read through Larry's posts several times and respec'd my AA's based largely on his posting. There's no question that there is great info all of them...a ton of it.

Thanks, Ariel, for scaling it all back to where I am today. Very helpful to get me going again.

If you are Stockpiling Shards for the next expansion you may be SOL.... I was in the understanding that there will be a brand new token system for the new gear/stuff.... I could be wrong....
