Default 70 Fury might betray to warden

I two box a Bruiser and a Fury. We have a LOT of furies in our guild, and I dont like being one of a common class. We have like one warden alt and they pretty much never log that character on. I can't remember the last time I saw a 70 warden log on.

Anyways, I'm a 70 Fury with all legendary gear, about 85% mastered out and 100 AA's.

I currently have the STR/INT lines, and have all of my nukes upgraded on the EoF tree with Energy Vortex and Animalism for power siphoning.

I look at the Warden AA's, and they just don't seem all that great. Warden nukes are no where near as powerful as Furies (and I have a pretty darn high INT), so I was wondering if anyone betrayed, got more +STR gear, and did the STR line + the melee lines and had equivalent DPS.

1) It'd really suck to lose all those masters, and I'd just betray back cause I don't like Qeynos. I wish I could just switch classes and stay in Neriak.
2) Almost all my gear gives +INT and many give +WIS. I hardly have any +STR (other than the STR tree) and my STR is less than 100. If I became melee speced, I'd have to find +STR gear - any recommendations?
3) I have the velium rod from DT + an adornment, as well as the big 2H Blackscale Maul with the large delay from BSS. Any other suggestions?
4) How many of you who went melee spec, raid and go in and melee mobs? Or do you only use it when you are grouping?

I guess I'm just curious what a full melee spec translates to in terms of numbers since I can't try it out.

Its a tough call, and I like playing the class less traveled. It might be an easier decision once RoK launches (not as many spells that have to be retrofitted) and I suppose I could just settle for AD3 until then. Still, a decent amount of plat to sink. At least I have no fury-specific gear (relic etc) - but a bunch of Jale's which should still be usable.

Any feedback from Wardens? Any switch from Fury and glad that they did?

i betrayed my fury to warden when he was lvl ~50, and it was boring to lose all dps.
But as a healer my warden rules.

So, start a warden instead, and leave your fury alone

I also betrayed my freeport fury to a qeynos warden when she was in her 50's.

One of the reasons I did was because after seeing Tunare's blessings and miracles, I knew it's what I wanted. Now..I could have stayed a fury but I liked the idea of all the warden heals being HoT's. Alot easier to heal IMO. (not saying it's hard as a fury)

But trading in all that healing power did have it's down side because I personally can't nuke for shit..but then I'm speced for healing more than melee.

I'd say just roll a warden and play it for a few lvls and see how you like it. It might be worth the betrayal if you like it..or it might save you a ton of plat on spell upgrades.

1. If it helps, you can betray to from Neriak Fury to Neriak Warden. Once you betray, and are exiled, you can go wherever you want.

2. My (now) warden has hardly any STR either. When you're in a group and get those str buffs, you'll see a huge difference in your hits. More Wis = More Power, but with enough regen you can make up for slightly less Wis. Having more INT will make your few damage spells more effective.

3. I suck here, so can't offer any advice.

4. Except for easy trash, you don't melee in raids. I do in groups, and that's when those group atk buffs come in handy.

I enjoy the change. I think what you said about waiting until RoK is right on the money - new gear and new spells make the change easier.

I love my warden and wouldn't betray her at all. We have the cheapest costing heals and all of them are HoT. We're the most cost effective healers out there.

Sure, you give up some DPS for it, but if you go down the right branches in the AA tree, you barely notice it. Ask any melee warden how much DPS they put out.

Thanks for the info all. Pitched it to the guild since we're short on Wardens to see if they'd pop for AD3 upgrades. Not a huge deal, but would be willing if they'd pitch in, otherwise I'd be fine as a Fury. I don't feel like rolling a new character.

We can't come close to fury dps still, but it is fun to melee on raids.

i betrayed from fury to warden also and for me i love it, i was very dissatisfied w/ my fury and got tired of ppl saying ooh your a lesser healer you can just dps, this infuriated me i didn't make a healer to dps if i want 2 dps i'll play my warlock so i betrayed, now i might not be able to do the 2k dps that the furies can do but i can out heal them any day and being meele spec'd i do ok dps and can solo easily. What i like the best now though is that i dont have ppl wanting to tell me i'm a backup healer and i can dps to my hearts desire.

I'm finding that they're making Furies the "caster" version of Druids and the Wardens are becoming the "tank" version with the melee spec option. Interesting to say the least.

Why is it then that Wardens get a Root, which Furies are lacking?
