Defend your corner
Hello Wardens,
I need to make room for a warden in the following setup
G1 - Guard/Defiler/Templar/Dirge/Coercer/Swashy
G2 - Illus/Wizzy/Troub/Fury/Assassin/Bruiser
G3 - Warlock/Troub/Necro/Fury/Conj/Shadowknight
G4 - Berserker/Mystic/Inquis/Dirge/Brigand/Ranger
This will be the standard group make-up for trash clearing in MMIS and Emerald Halls. Who would you take out to make room for you and why? Are wardens just comepletely useless for trash clearing these days?
Thanks in advance

Re: Defend your corner
I believe one of the downfalls of our class is that we can't 'fit' anywhere, but can 'fill in' everywhere. At least that is the feeling that I got when I was raiding. I was always in the main tank group, which had 3 healers always. So that is where I would suggest you put your warden. Not sure what you'd take out, and if it might improve the group, my experience has always been wardens are best suited for main tank group.

Re: Defend your corner
Not useless, but more like jack-of-all-trades on trash. I turn on auto-attack (haha .. yeah, I know), spot heal and cure my group and others, heal lifeburning necros, heal aggro-stealing dps, rez occasionally, and even throw out some dps when I can.
I suppose you could take or leave a Warden for trash, but they're not useless.

Re: Defend your corner
If you "need" to make room for a warden the only spot where fits its on MT group for the coercer, dirge and swash are enought for the guardian to keep agro even on 40k+ trash dps in EH or MMIS
I do around 1k on trash in EH, some ones 800 some others 1200 and not full melee AAs, me a nuking warden, a full melee warden can do some more dps there.
And at same time can heal too :P i did around 800 dps zone wide in our last EH run and still got 3rd in the heal parse.
On MMIS prolly better warden sit out tought.

What group are you in? I don't think there's any way in hell I can get 1200 dps on any mob, probably not 1000, in my regular MT group spot, even with my 'dps suit' on. I do 600-700 on trash if I concentrate on nothing but dps, get some good procs, and hold my mouth right. What do you do to get those numbers, especially while healing too?

Re: Defend your corner
I was thinking maybe put him in instead of the fury in G3. The mages will probably cry without Ferine Vim but the warden Bloodline Chronicles spell gives power right? You could maybe drop your mit buff. The group will lose a lot of DPS due to the loss of the INT buffs but perhaps they might survive the AoEs a bit better with the extra resists from your wisdom buffs.
I really dont want to take out anyone from the MT group for the trash as I need all the hate I can get on the MT to hold agro against the kinds of DPS these guys are gonna put out. Your spikecoat is cross raid and you will do some decent DPS against the high level trash with the benefit of the warlock and troub buffs. Dont wardens buff more HP than furys? Something like 600 ? That could help during lifeburn
Warden's kick ass in MT group during named encounters, no doubt about that

Me allways in MT group, same setup OP posted but no coercer :P Like i said u dont need really all that hate in MT group, our guild do more 40k dps on trash in EH and agro its fine.
Not got atm any parse on single encounters in EH but got saved last run, i said 800 zone wide ? well its 794 dps lol, but you can see where damage its comming from, zone wide parse its less ofc. ;)
i put all dmg proc items on, vrasakin club, and spam group beneficials while nukes not up to get Infusive Wrath from INT line procing all who can.
We failed in the trials too so did all the trash

i hate to say but really wardens c'ant compete for the place in dps or off-tank groups, if u got fury inquis and mystic, are a lot better for those groups vs the warden.
Warden its like a templar only fits well in MT group. Can do the job in a dps group keeping ppl alive but any other healer class its better at it.

Thanks for these, I learned something. I would not have thought Infusion would make such a huge impact on overall dps. But I've never had it and I recently respecced out of INT entirely to AGI for the AoE avoid (which, to my surprise, has turned out to be very helpful, and I'll probably give up my spell crits for it permanently /cry).
Sorry for the derail ... back to topic...
