Re: Vanguard or Warhammer?
Bleh, this post is going to be long but fuck it. A couple things...
Pink nobody cares whether you are right or not, it's the fact that you are talking about things you know nothing about just because you read it somewhere on the internets. People will always get made fun of for doing that so get used to it if that's how you want to be seen. This has already been stated but you didn't really seem to get it so I felt it was worth restating. Not trying to be rude, just trying to hammer home a point you seem to have missed.
Itemization is bad in Warhammer as of right now. However, I disagree with both Ossot and Pinks quoted blog about why. (Stating that Adam is the go-to guy on information about endgame itemization wouldn't be much different then asking Pink herself, no offense) It's preposterous to say that most classes prefer splitting their Annihilator/Bloodlord sets over sporting a full-set of Sentinel. The only reason I can possibly see the majority of classes doing this is if they were unable to get their Sentinel/Dark Promise easily. With that said there are a few classes that in the right spec can get a lot of benefit out of splitting the lower tier Sets, it is the exception though and not the rule.
The itemization is bad for the following reasons:
-You are forced to progress through the wards to do the PvE instances but you can do an entire run of the Sentinal instances without getting your set piece to drop. At this point you would have to wait around for 3 days to try again.
-Mythic put too much importance on secondary stats. For example, as an Archmage you can end up with upwards of 300 Weaponskill with certain full sets. This doesn't mean that you weren't able to pump the stat you were going for high enough to be effective, but it does mean that you are stuck wondering if you could get more Willpower on this piece if they would just get rid of the dumbass Weaponskill on it.
-Our last Fortress raid ended up with over 800 people being present(we crashed the server and forced Mythic to rethink their design but that's not what this is about). 800 People divided by the 6 Gold bags that drop off the Fortress Lord multiplied by the number of times Fortresses are actually captured equals some seriously shitty chances of you being able to get full Conqueror.
-The design of Talisman make set gear better then non-set gear by a good margin. This causes a lack of variety among people of similar specs even more so then in EQ.
Just my opinion as someone that actually plays the game.
