PvE aoe grinding is the fastest way to level unfortunately, but as I can never be arsed to do it I'm still level 37 running around trying to PvP myself to the cap (and have been in T4 for about a month now, but casual playtimes)

Pretty spot on - you can level insanely fast with AE grinds on large hard Public Quests (which on the larger servers is broadcast all the time for spots)
As for me, when I leveled I did it through PvP - and it took longer, but my renown rank was 40 right the next day from hitting Rank 40. Renown isn't hard to get up to about 38ish - but then is a grind after that. Right now I am just about to hit 56, which isn't too bad judging that I only started playing Warhammer on DC back in March, and I don't play more then 2-3 hours at a time.
Tor Anroc is a fun scenario, if you are in a pre-made - but if you were just grinding away and doing it, I can see how it pissed you off. It's the first (and only scenario) map where classes with KnockBack can just what the fuck own you into lava....and right around the mid 20's is when most classes start to get some form of crowd control.
End game wise, on the major servers (Dark Crag, Iron Rock, Gorfang, etc) Order dominates. It's not a matter of bad destro players, it's just fact that Order classes are more powerful then destro - and unless the destro side has an enormous zerg, it's going to be that way. This works for me, since I like being the underdog - but others can't stand it. The disparity in gear (at least on Dark Crag, which I believe is the only North American server to have a side kill the King [Order has killed our King I believe 5/6 times]) is huge - but again, it's fun none the less if you don't mind knowing when to pick your battles.
The last patch brought back a little more parity, with the overall AE nerf, and crowd control changes. With Mythic merging with Bioware - here is hoping things get even better (and they have a generic "We are going to be doing x and y before the end of the year" type post) - but for me, it's at least fun still.
Holy - I never played WoW more then a week or so, ever
