I'm curious what kind of gear set-ups people choose when named hunting or whatever

Obviously Nest GoG and Vultak eye are classics, but what else do you go for?

Perhaps you dont' have any solo gear, and i'd like to know your reasons for not having if you dont.

Mainly for the sake of conversation but also because i've never really overdone it on the solo gear and as we draw close to expansion and there's less and less to do i'm thinking of maybe making a little money

Stone of Nizara (Nizara), Signet of Light from Darkness (OOB), Soulfire Staff (Swords of Destiny) and Fitzpitzle's Misty Protector (Claymore) can help reduce the amount of damage you take. There's also the 2H from POA that procs a heal but I think I'd take the Misty Protect / Vultak Eye / Soulfire Staff.

Outside of those, I use mostly regular gear.

I use the OoB ring, Misty Protector, Vultak eye, Nest robe and the Archmagus dagger. Sometimes I'll swap out the dagger for the soulfire for heals but not often. I finally got around to doing the Shield of the Magi and if there's tons of mobs on me it can help as well.

if you aren't rooting, the mit shoulders from nizara might be handy. I used to swap them in occasionally.

i drop proc gear for stuff with more stats. who wants a proc to break your root when you get a good named? but if im running with my boxed fury i wont have to root and use my proc gear.

ditto dropping proc gear. also avoid dots. unfortunately that doesn't leave much to cast.

ah i can solo well enough ofc was just looking for gear to add to my soloing gear collection, i already drop procs and dont use any dots except apoc, i guess i was asking for some stun/stiffle/heal/ward items really

Go for the Dagger of the Archmagus Kabs... hardest part might be rounding up people to farm PoS though :\ I still think it's the best mage weapon in the game for non-epic content. Stifles for 7 sec and procs damage. Of course it has a chance to break root but worth the risk IMO.
