IMO below 500 Spell damage
1 Crit = 20-22 Spell damage

After that not all spells get spell damage so it will be not as valuable higher then this<still better then nothing>

As for casting and recast, I would say 1 Casting = 1.5 recast.

For comparing the 2 I'm not certain yet but I think:

1 Crit = 1.5 Casting

On the note of the reet helm. The whole quest reward/collection was brought to my attention late. Any sorceres still sporting this helm after the reuse proc nerf? So now at best the helm is giving 6% reuse speed, thankfully stacking with the Unrest cloak. Anyone find it greater value than a +3% crit helm? Oddly enuf I still want the bright pink helm, it'll get use in one of the two head slots I can throw it in lmao. I really need a new neck, my neck peice is ghetto by EoF standards.

, currently run about 41-45% crit on raids (without and with potion) and i think i have a few hundred boe i'll count it all up whne i get home from work...if your low on boe there is a 2% crit 95 BOE helm

from mine calculations:
1% spell haste euqal to 11 boe for 29+ (thats not the exact lenght - im too lazy to look at my calculations atm) sec lenght, thats 3 solo mob lines on average (used to make such conversion when calculated zet vs ro cloak effectivity). Your buffs, and all thouse debuffs on mobs are excluded, also when I did it my warlock had all thouse effects from agi line (14 spell cast, 12 spell reusee).
1% spell crit is very dangerous to convert into boe if you want to calculate spell rotation effectivity its more an abstract model then a real boe conversion.

Here is my 2 cents. If you have your own experience on the subject, im all yours for conversation. Everything I say is arguable.

i really dont think 1 crit = 11 boe, crit is alot better, i mean for us because our spells are such high damage we have a high boe cap for spells bc the cap is 1/2 the max of the spell, and also crits do really well for us bc our spells take so long to cast we crit alot. personally run 41-45 crits on raids and maybe 350 boe atm

Edit: no EoF or Rok raid gear

Another variable to throw out there is that crits are variable dependent upon the level of the mob. You'll see way more crits versus greens than you will versus OJs.

I think having such a high SD cap is actually worse for us. Think about it:

1 mage with 1.75 casting time nuke, 1000 base damage, with +500 SD. Casts
2 spells in 4.0 seconds, does 3000 damage.

1 mage with a 3.50 casting time nuke, 2000 base damage, with +500 SD. Casts
1 spell in 4.0 seconds, does 2500 damage.

So fast casters benefit more from +SD than slow ones. Yes we have a higher cap, but that just means we need more SD to get to where other casters can get.

I'm getting fairly comfortable with my formula that 1 crit = 25 SD = 1% cast bonus = 1% recast bonus. Thing is I've gathered over 750 SD now (its on everything nowadays) so I am beginning to hit those 50% of max caps.

I am having a delima when finding out the right combination as well. Self buffed I sit at around 1k spell dmg, 38% crit, and id say around 8% inrease reuse time from gear alone.

My warlock is sitting around 38% crits sell buffed, 870 +spell damage gear on. Haven't worked out her reuse gear yet, but I have 3 bits of the Blistered Strand set which would give me 5 reduction, although I'd have to swap out gear I prefer to get that bonus...
