Default New Warlock

Hello,

I just recently started playing EQ2 From Wow. I am playing a warlock and i used to play a warlock on Wow. I was curious if you guys could give me some tips and pointers about playing a warlock on eq2. Like what are some good AAs lines and maybe combo with spells and etc. Any information or guide you can provide this Reborn Newbie will be greatly appericated.

Thank You
Exsus

P.S. My warlock is lvl 76 it was a handed down account.

Step one, read posts in warlock forum before posting. Spell combos, AA lines, etc have all been covered in other threads. Do that, then come ask questions.

So your very first EQ2 character is one that starts at level 76? Yeah, that's not cool at all.

Oh but levelling a newbie warlock is so fun! /wrists

I'm not sure how similar warlocks are in WoW, but if I were you, I'd learn from the ground up, experiment, try the different AA lines for yourself. Gear wise is simple, go for int and procs, which I'm sure is the same in WoW. You might want to make a newbie char and run around the isle of refuge or one of the newbie areas to get an idea of how things work here, but otherwise I don't think there's much that's different.

Warlocks are one of the classes that really does take experience to play well (at least IMO), you'll stand out like a sore thumb if you log in and try to group with people without that experience. You might even consider levelling a newbie 'lock to like 30 or so to get some grouping experience with people that won't be mad at you for being a newb. If you do that, be prepared to die. A lot.

I'd agree. Leveling one to 30 is pretty easy. I switched from wizard to lock at 43 and it was a fairly serious change in playstyles for me.

The warlock of eq2 is nothing like the warlock of WoW. If you want a more similar playstyle then try a necromancer. EQ2 warlocks don't have pets other than to add stats.

FWIW: I loved leveling up my warlock from 1-70 (so fa)r.
I DO NOT recommend starting out with a 76lock until you understand how the class works. You're going to spend a ton of dough in repair bills, and make everyone pretty angry for maybe wiping the group you're in because blue AOEs go through walls.

Eq2 is defiantly not the same as wow, and the warlock is pretty different. Roll up a warlock, play him/her until you're at least in your 30s.

I don't think you need to roll up a new lock. You'll waste alot of time doing newbie solo quests, you won't learn how to use your spells effectively (since you will only have like 1/2 our spellines at 30) and its tough to find low level groups.

I think you'll have a better time learning the class by offering to mentor people. That way if you screw up you've got enough raw firepower to compensate for it.

But yeah, EQ2 warlock is nothing like WoW warlock. If you want a similar experience, go with a necro.
