I've tested a number of things out just to see how they went. I did a lot of +spell dmg stuff. Then I swapped that out for +cast speed and +reuse speed (I do not have al'kabor) and it boosted my dps up nicely. I'd think if you had an al'kabor anything with +reuse speed would be very beneficial. Right now i'm workn on my spell crit stuff while keeping a balance of other things.

There's no one thing you want to boost above all others really. Take effects and stat bonuses in comparison to other options. I haven't bothered straight testing anything yet but I use a personal assumption that 35spell damage = 1spell crit. I assume that for comparing spell damage to dmg procs I calculate out the dmg of the proc * times per minute and compare it to the +spell dmg * 20(aprox casts per minute), this is not entirely accurate however. Spell procs are more beneficial to us than the +spell dmg because procs cannot cap out and they tend to happen more often than items tell us they will.

I don't have any sure answers about casting speed bonuses and recast speed bonus in comparison to spell crits or procs. Most pieces are pretty obvious as to which is better. Always remember that when comparing two items it often matters what else you are wearing. If you have so much cast speed and no recast boosters yea it helps and all but it starts to wear down on it's effectiveness.

Prior to RoK I stayed away from +crit because I didn't see it being possible for me to get to a point where it wasn't screwing up my sense of how much agro I was pulling.

With all the +crit legendary items avail in RoK I'm now looking to increase that area. Currently sitting at +41 spell crit self buffed (including book pet) without using a crit potion, and my +spell is just under 400 iirc (at work so I can't really check).

I used the extra points we got in sorcerer tree to go down str line, and moved points out of agi to get catalyst. So far I'm pleased with the results for me

Seeing as we can get three lines in EoF I dropped Catalyst while keeping the 8 points in raw crit and put more points into wis line including reduction of power cost.

With the amount of spell crit we can get in this expansion it no longer made sense for me to spend another second of cast time to garuntee crit and lose out on extra points in freehand and less worry of power. No... power should not dictate what you want to do for dps output but with the state of how fast i riffle thru spells and how long any fight that matters normally takes... it's helpful to have the bottom of wis line and we can all agree that losing the bottom of agi line is out of the question.

As far as controlling your aggro is concerned you can very easily watch your output if you have just your spell damage shown on screen and if you see far too many big numbers and think your tank is sucking then you can plan accordingly.

When you build your toon do so for output, not for holding back. You can hold back manually if shit hits the fan, but you want to be able to lay waste to shit when it needs to die.

I've went for crits... sitting at 54% self-buffed atm w/o potion with only RoK legendary/quested gear. Still lack the 4% robe from maidens. Happy with this setup atm

67% crits , roughly +400 spell dmg, and i *think* about 44% cast speed enhancement, 23% reuse, all raid buffed. Still have trouble getting 4k on singles, but it happens from time to time.
