since this last LU nerfed propagations to only affect spells and not items anymore, we're going to be seeing a decrease in item procs from our gear. This might make BoE or Crit% more desirable now.

Unless we can complain loudly enough to get Props back on our gear.

I couldn't agree more Gotter.. what is sad is that so many things have dropped for mages in my raid guild that i have passed up.. i.e. the caster crit gloves out of PR is just one example. so it seems that i have not only wasted my time passing on those items but also with farming a zone days on end untill i recieved preator's guard. I'm using VWB and Plasma wand currently with propagations (before nerf) and had nice success with them.. but now.. heh.. i have to not only hunt for a new weapon but also boots to be up where i was on the parse.

Yeah I'm swapping to the epic and I bought a pair of phantom boots off the broker. I think the plasma wand will still slightly outdps the epic since the props nerf, but the epic has far better stats and that nifty AE hate position drop. It'll be interesting to see if its worth meleeing with in raids, its actually got a good DR and delay.

The plasma was godly at 6.4% base damage over time with props...but its 3.2% now...comparing it to 4 crit + 600 point proc + 14 int + 120 health + 120 power + 2 disruption is pretty close. I think most people would be fine with either one, it depends how much you need the AE hate position drop. I never got my claymore so it is rather important for me. If you want to min/max you can swap weaps depending upon the encounter.
